Hand 1, 4 handed.
Dealt 9h9s Utg/CO. SB is a decent player, definatly on the tight side.
Hero raises, Button folds, SB 3 bets, BB folds, Hero calls.
Flop 3s Kd 7d
SB bets, hero calls.
Turn 4d
Sb bets, hero calls.
River 10 h
SB checks, hero checks.
Hand 2, 6 handed.
CO is very loose PF, BB is a calling station
Hero is SB with Kc8c
Co calls, Hero completes, BB checks
Flop 5c Js 8d
Hero bets, BB calls, CO folds.
Turn Ac
Hero Bets, BB raises, Hero calls.
River 3c
Hero checks.
Silly PF complete? Silly flop bet? Silly check raise attempt?

Hand 1 may be kinda standard, but I would appreciate some input on the second hand.

Hand 1: Good, I play it the same.
Hand 2: Good again. Completing with K8s is definitely +EV, leading is good, and I would always go for a checkraise here, BB is very likely betting the river.

Hand 1 is fine. His river check looks like he could be trying to induce a bluff. i don't think you're good enough to value bet here.
Hand 2 is good.

The river check raise attempt is what I was really curious about.
Likely scenarios:
1.) I bet and he calls: +1 BB (He calls here about 100 % of the time).
2.) I check and he bets, then calls my raise: +2BB (This opponent is probably calling here a lot).
3.) I check and he bets, but folds to my raise: +1BB (Not very likely with this guy).
4.) I check and he checks: 0BB (Somewhat likely).
Scenario 2 has to happen more than scenario 4 for this to be profitable. I honestly don't know if it does. I usually bet here to ensure I get my 1 BB, but I may be playing scared.
*Edit - Against a smart opponent, Scenario 3 probably happens enough to justify a bet (instead of a checkraise).

I think this guy calls your river raise 97% of the time. I think he bets the river 60% of the time. C/r makes more money.

You are probably right. Do you attempt this against someone who you think is capable of folding to a check raise?

Usually. I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but it's a pretty general question.

Very very few players are folding top pair (and it seems he has at least that) getting over 10:1 on their $.

Hand 1: Raise the flop, cant believe everyone is encouraging crappy passive poker. You can then safely fold to a 3bet, and fire again on the turn if he jsut calls. On the river you can decide to either check behind (probably a good choice against this opponent), or fire out a value bet if you think he will call you with a lower PP or crap like AQ that didnt connect.
Hand 2: pretty ABC limit poker, id go for the c/r here also, most players dont slow down shorthanded after showing strength on the expensive streets.

Yeah it was a silly question. The more I look at it, the simpler the check raise is. Thanks for your help/input.
