I had JJ
This guy wasn't known to bluff.
I was in a $50 heads up tourney.
Blinds were 50/100 I think.
I raised to $300.
He called.
Flop: 8 Q 8 pot=$800
I bet 400
He calls
Turn: T
I check
He bets 400
I fold.
What do you think? If he called me with J9, I'm screwed. Just about anything he would call me with on the flop is bad.

What were the chip counts like?
Good fold, the only thing you beat is a bluff. I wouldn't put him on J9 given that he would have called the flop with a gutshot and the unlikliness of him holding one of the two remaining jacks. Most likely a Q or an 8, neither of which is good for us.

gotta go with the read and fold.
Why not bet out on the turn? will he only call with a pair?

Analyzing a single hand of heads up is near impossible because ranges are just far too large. I make his bet with any pair here after you checked.
I really think you should have bet the turn, but i see the blinds are getting kinda big. That must have been a long game.

Yep, long game. I always get the tough opponents. All the easy ones have lost all their money. I think folding was right here also. Another bet would have pot committed me. It was basically all-in here or check/fold at this point. I think I only had 1600 after my flop bet of 400.
