Recently got poker tracker/Poker Ace HUD and have been figuring them out (thanks in part to some good threads provided here.) Anyway, what are your basic standards for choosing a table to sit at (obviously the bigger the VP$ the better, but what's the min you'll usually accept?)

individual player's statistics are much more informative than the average statistics for the table
specifically you want to check the two or three players to the right of the open seat
i like either a loose passive player or a maniac on my right
loose passive might be anything >30% VPIP in full ring with an AF 1 or lower
maniacs also have high VPIP, although their AF's are 2 or greater (an AF for of 2 for a player with a VPIP of 70 tranlates into more aggression than an AF of 3 for a player with a VPIP of 20).

One other thing I just was wondering, is there anything wrong with just opening 10 tables and leaving your poker tracker running on Party? This isn't the same thing as data mining is it?

Nothing wrong with it at all. Are you worried that this is against some obscure Party Poker policy? If so, I have been doing exactly this for 7 months and have never had any issues.

The way I play a person needs to accept that they will get the bad beats and should bankroll accordingly. I personally look for tables that have a higher than avg pot and a flop % of 60%+
Once there I'll take a look at those tables and see individual stats as well as chip stacks.
I try to keep the standard aggressive on my right and passive to my left (not as worried of tight or loose as MOST will be very loose).
With chip stacks I secondarily look for a big chip stack to my left, especially if they are aggressive.
The only things to keep in mind are when players leave the table, pay particular attention to the new players.
Players like me are also looking for these type of tables and the composition of the table can change quickly. Once my table gets down to about the 45% seeing the flop I start to think about other factors such as if the competition is still weak. If still weak playersbut tighter, stick around. You may have to adjust your play a bit but lots of money to make still.
If table avg drops below 30% I evaluate again if this is still a money making table.
I play super tight on the table. Not truly tight but tight compared to the rest of the table. Mainly leading with pairs and high Axs and jumping in on big pots with suited connectors. I normally go with fit or fold unless I have information elling me I can knock someone out of the pot.
As the flop seer % drops I pick up the pace and play more hands to get the quick advantage of my tight image. I will than tighten up again and pick my spots on a more player to player basis.
If table gets tight and I cannot steal blinds from the two or three players on my left or resteal from the couple to my right, I will than leave.
This strat I use at micro tables but I have had extreme success since using it.
Since I began with this strat On Dec 21/05 I am at a rampant pace of 55BB/100 hands. or 23BB/Hr. With all the bad beats I have taken I hope this will continue to be consistent at these stakes and I'm not on a huge run.
Best success at FCP but you can find these type of tables at times at most sites. I also play at UB, PP, Paradise and have about the same stats. I play absolute but personally have found my stat requirements harder to find. When I do find these tables, the solid players are usually quick to follow.
I can't stress enough to be prepared for the bad beats. If you cannot not handle them emotionally, do not attempt because I have been on long runs of donks pulling one and two outers on the river with me.
But you will be guaranteed to win huge pots when your good hands stand.
I hope you are looking for Limit info. If not I got finger cramps for no reason.
Maybe this will help someone else.
