If I'm playing at a 10 person cash table, How often should I fold preflop.
My stats show that I fold pre flop between 65 and 70%.
Is that too high , too low or just right.
Thanks for the input.

i reckon its too low - u should prbably e aiming for around 80-85%.
Depends what your style is and how good you are postflop though, and what the table is like....

if you play 15% of your hands you need to start expanding your play if you plan on beating higher NL games.

I strongly recommend starting out folding 80-85% of your starting hands. Once you start getting comfortable with NLHE, you can begin to expand your starting hand requirements.
While you are starting out and getting used to NLHE, I cannot stress enough that playing tight but aggressive is the best way to get a feel for the game. Once you are more comfortable with how NLHE is played, then you can choose to optimize your TAG play, or try to switch to a more LAG style.
Until you know the nuances of NLHE, LAG (and especially loose, passive) is the fastest way to bust out (I am talking from personal experience).

I think folding 80% outside of the blinds is good. But then average in your completions/checks from the blinds and that could put you at about 70% fold rate. Only seeing 30% of total flops will still put you at tighter than average, but not by much.
It totally depends on your style though. If you get comfortable at a table you will want to make creative plays and other moves so you are not letting the cards decide your fate.

You should be in about 30-35% of the hands you are dealt to create enough of an impression that you are a good player. If you fold too much preflop, you will not get any action post flop if you bet.

I would tend to think that 30% sounds reasonable for ten handed games. I think another important stat line to keep track of is your percentage of bets, raises and reraises compared to your percentage of calls. Even in the new era of no fold em holdem' I believe you should make sure that however often you're entering pots that you are coming in betting, raising or reraising at least as often, if not more than flat calling.

I think this is too high for most players. I feel that I play a large number of hands and I am seeing 35% only on a very good run of cards. For most people to be comfortable, I think they should be seeing 20-25% until they become more comfortable taking flops.

I agree completely. Play fewer than 30% of your hands.
