I'm writing to express my extreme disappointment in
the server problems you were having during the Protege
seat 1 round 2 tournament tonight. After trying many
times unsuccessfully to log in via the Java client on
my Mac in MacOS mode (which I used to play the round 1
event), I was forced to log in and attempt to play in
VirtualPC/Windows mode using your PC client. If you
weren't already aware, when playing in VirtualPC your
PC client is so slow that occasionally certain actions
on the table will not appear, chips and cards will
hover over the table well after the hand has ended and
while the next hand is playing, and bet timing of your
opponents is impossible to judge. It was impossible
to follow the action at the table and still try to
play with any kind of focus. These problems were
ESPECIALLY aggravating given the 1-time-only nature of
this tournament.
If people like me who rely on the java client to
connect to FCP are not given an additional opportunity
to qualify for the Protege round 3 event, with a
*working* java client, then I will not do any further
playing on FCP and will let others know that they
can't rely on FCP's java client to deliver a reliable
connection. I seriously hope you're able to make this
up to us somehow.
