Just got back from an oh-so-fun drug test for the new job. I am obsessed with washing my hands after taking a leak and the nurse wouldn;t let me wash them until she was done packaging up my piss. It was gross. :?

1- The Red Sox are one of the biggest payrolls in baseball. Right up there with NY.
2- Did the Red Sox win the WS last year? Did the Red Sox win the AL east?

C-Dub, you are my favorite Yankee fan I know, but here is where you are wrong. The yankees 2005 payroll was $208,306,817. The Red Sox was 2 $123,505,125. Im no mathmatician, but thats a (searching for calculator) $84,801,629 difference. The two teams finished with the exact same record.

Yes, that is true. The Yankees have a bigger budget than the Sox, and the rest of baseball for that matter.
You neglect to realize one thing, however.
Using your own source, the Yankees and the Red Sox are the two biggest payrolls in MLB.
That is what I meant in my earlier post.

Yes it is true that we have the two highest payrolls. But dont you think its pathetic that a team with $84,000,000 salary more than the 2nd highest team can't even get past the first round of the playoffs? This is also true of the sox to a lesser extent, but we had injuries.

Dude. Let's not talk about injuries.
How about our entire starting pitching staff??? That's a good chunk of the payroll right there on the DL. Wright was a comebacker magnet all season, Pavano was toast, Mussina was on and off, even the replacement pitcher was out for the season! (Chein Ming Wang)
Our bullpen was a mess, as 2 of our middle relievers were pretty much gone. Gordon pitched every day and was over worked, and we were forced to bring in random no-names or has-beens to piece it back together.

Randy was FAR from our ace this year.
If anything, Aaron Small or Shawn Chacon were.
And yes we had Mo, but we had no way to get to him. We didn't have middle relievers that could bridge the gap and get him in to close the door.

Niether did the Sox. Timlin was solid about 70% of the time, but like Gordon he was overworked. Other than that we had pretty much no one. Our ace was Matt Clement for the first part of the year. He was awesome untill he got hit in the head by a batted ball. Other than that, you could make a case for Wakefield or Wells, but it wouldnt be a strong one. We pretty much blew. We needed Beckett REALLY BAD.

Anyway. Since I am so outnumbered, how would you guys like to make this season a little more interesting?
Here's the action:
Before the season starts, all the hideout regulars either pick boston, ny, or neither.
At the end of the season, whoever's team goes furthest (best record in reg season, deepest into post season) will get to pick out a picture for the other team's fans in the hideout. The losing fan(s) must then use that picture as their avatar for an alotted time period.
