I was playing limit with this guy who was crushing this other guy. Get position, bluff him out of 108$ pot (play). We play five more hands, I take about 300 more from him, he gets up and leaves.
I sit down at a game, and it's apparently the same guys I took about 400 from earlier, and they boot me after one hand saying they want to play heads up. I tell them to create a private table if they want to do that.

Earlier I said I was going to watch UFC 1 for the first time, and give my opinion on it. I'll probably write something more elaborate at some point, but for now...
- The production was terrible. I know it was 1993, but I felt like I was watching a 1972 NBA game.
- The announcing team was just awful. A guy who could barely string a sentence together, a female kick-boxing champion and Jim Brown?!?! I found myself wishing for Joe Rogan, which is scary.
- The refs sucked. They didn't recognize tap-outs, didn't end the matches properly, missed blatant groin shots and fence grabs and were basically useless. Thank god for Big John.
- There were seven matches in all. None of them went over 3 minutes. Basically anything without Shamrock or Gracie in it was fairly bad.
I don't the energy to get all the names, so here is the quickie rundown:
- Match 1: Sumo Guy vs. Sambo Guy. Sumo Guy shoots, lands on fat ass, takes his time trying to lift his 410 lbs off the mat, eats a kick and a punch from Sambo guy, goes to la la land. Fight stop on account of blood. NOT a good way to start the night.
- Match 2: Fat Retired Kickboxer guy with trunks up to his breasts vs. Boxer-type guy. They trade blows for about a minute and a half before both get winded and look like they are both going to die of exhaustion. Boxer guy basically falls down, Fat Kickboxer guy pulls up trunks even higher and lands a couple of horrible shots before towel gets thrown in.
- Match 3: Gracie vs. Boxer type guy wearing ONE BOXING GLOVE. Guy with one boxing glove immediately regrets wearing the glove as Royce shoots, takes him down and basically smothers him into oblivion. Tap. Match over.
- Match 4: Shamrock vs. Hometown Tae Kwon Do Guy with alleged record of 250-0. TKD guy gets a shot or two in on Shamrock, but Shamrock takes him down, grabs and leg and twists it into a pretzel. TKD taps himself, the mat, Shamrock, and the ref. The ref ends the match. The TKD guy gets up, recovers a bit, then decides that he did not want to end the match and argues. Scuffle ensues, the moronic Denver crowd actually gets behind TKD guy even though he clearly tapped, and chant bullshit during follow-up Shamrock interview. Sad.

Keep in mind that I rented the old school videotape and maybe the re-release DVD will be better. Maybe they'll take out the seven previews for horrible B movies I have never seen.

Keep in mind that I rented the old school videotape and maybe the re-release DVD will be better. Maybe they'll take out the seven previews for horrible B movies I have never seen.
