Well, I have to thank teneight for putting the thought back
in my head to start collecting hockey cards again this year.

Like most of us, I collected as a kid, but grew out of it when
other priorites (girls, life, girls, school, girls, etc...) got in
the way.

For the past month or two, I've been collecting this year's
hockey card sets, and DAMN, have things ever changed in
the past 10 years or so...

All kinds of inserts, Autographs, Jersey pieces in the cards,
limited print runs, it really seems like the card companies
actually care about their product now...

Anybody else collect cards currently?
What sets?
Any cool inserts?

Cheers!

yes, it's crazy now. the best cards out there are autos/patches. Game used cards aren't really worth much unless the Game used piece is very very very nice.

the boxes are expensive as hell now. $100 for a good box of cards. i only collect football cards and i have a good collection now. The lowered numbered the card, the better it is. I don't have a 1/1 yet. the best card i have is a doak walker/barry sanders dual patch..#01/10 ( only 10 made). i sell a lot of the cards i dont really care for on ebay

go steelers. I have a lot of great football cards from the steelers and they should sell like crazy if they win the SB. the Ben rothlesberguer rookie autos are selling like crazy all over EBAY.

Hey teneight,

How do you find you make out with ebay selling of cards?

I have thought about starting that up, but it seems
like a huge pain in the a$$ for what the return would be...

ebay can be a bitch to deal with. You have to stay on top of it to really make any money. If you have the scratch, just selling boxes is the way to go. Start with one kind and roll the money over.
