no reads, UTG played it like he had an A, and button played it like a J which means I had him outkicked. I was kinda steaming by this hand because I kept losing to A6o and Q4o and 10 4s and I was down something like 20 BB in about half an hour.

Gotta love it when UTG turns over some sort of flush.

I probly just limp preflop here after 3 early position limpers.

Flop and turn look fine

I definitely only bet / call or check/call the river 3 betting is major spew especially since the flush draw hit.

i'd leave the action after ur river 3-bet out.

I slow down after the turn cap unless button was a maniac. Villain waiting for the turn absolutely screams of strength. I c/c river. Maybe b/c but i certainly wouldn't three bet it.

We are behind exactly one realistic hand here and that is AJ.

It screams strength but we are also very strong.

I think the river action becomes a lot more interesting if the river doesnt come a club.

Like what, AA? a Jack is more likely and I have his kicker beat.
Actuary
limp preflop
call flop
raise turn.

river 3-bet is spewlicious.
RISEorFall
why is this a limp PF from CO?

Why just call the flop? I'm guessing you'll say bc draws can still call profitably and I can exploit a bigger edge on the turn with a safe card. Do I not want to make it unprofitable for gutshots to draw tho?

Once I raise the turn, do I cap a 3-bet?

Bet/call or check/call river?
Actuary
KJ off has little equity edge, if any.
Off suit broadways, like KJ don't like multiway pots for 14 bets preflop. Or say 10 if all the clowns don't call after you. You are bloating the pot, when High Card strength is your best asset, and even then, its not always clear. KJs, I raise.

So, say you have 7 SB pot, and just call the flop bet, we can say there will be just 2 folds, not 4 maybe.

Now pot is 6 BB on turn.

see?

River, bet/call. and gag.

With two clubs and gutshots galore I'd think we' want to protect out hand. I agree with bet/call the river and that pf isn't nessecarily a raise, but i'm not following ur reasoning on the flop.
Actuary
I think it's a case where even gutshots getting 5:1 would call a flop raise, with implied odds. We will never be able to get flushes to fold incorrectly, either way. By waiting for a safe turn, our raise will protect against gut shots and hands like Ax.

I'm haven't sold myself on not rasing the flop, that may be best, epseically if we keep the pot small preflop.

I am sold on not rasing KJ off preflop, after 3 limpers, especially on a table with loose players yet to act too.
RISEorFall
if anyone cares, button had 44 for the turned boat. i think UTG had 8 4 icon_suit_club.gif
