I'm trying to learn some other games besides limit and nolimit holdem.

1st: If I get dealt an 8 high straight is it better to disczrd the 7 instead of the 8 to give yourself less of a chance of drawing a straight?

2nd: If i'm in the small blind and its folded to me what strating hand requirements should I use to limp? Is it ok to play a hand to draw 3? 4? or even 5?

Also if ayone ever wants to get a game going i will play up to 1/2 on gamesgrid.

1st: Where are we at in the hand and what have players around you done? Anyone standing pat?

If you muck your 8 the only card that can give your hand real strength is a deuce. Those are terrible odds. If you discard the 7 you can go for a deuce or tre.

This may sound bold, but if I were dealt this hand from the start and there are lots of players that appear to be headed to the second draw, I would strongly consider dumping the 8 and the 6 and drawing two cards. You'd have a run at the nuts, but you have various combos of cards that could give you a respectable hand.

2nd: I would never limp to draw 5. I don't see anything wrong with drawing three, and if the player is not AT ALL aggressive, I would draw four.
