No way. You played your queens pretty fast, but after you make that bet on the turn, you're pot-committed. There's no way that you can fold to a raise. All that raise means is "I have a hand I want to play, and I'm not folding on the river, so I guess I'll put all my chips in."
You might be able to figure out that you're a 60/40 underdog or so from the raise, but you can't be anywhere near sure enough to fold getting 5:1 on your money. The fact that you're even suggesting a fold might be a good move shows me that you don't have a very good grasp on NL cash game strategy.

No you are correct...im no where near a NL cash game winner.
wanted to add...there was no way id fold after putting that bet out on the river...i agree that i was pot committed..i think i should have left my self room to get out though..and put out a smaller turn bet...
I try, and i feel like im getting better...but i need practice for sure.

You really played this hand pretty perfectly. Just got unlucky. When he called your bet on the flop you have to bet strong with an overpair. Especially on this flop. The only way you could get away is if you have strong read that this is a very tight player. If you make a small bet into the the pot your just giving him a cheaper draw or showing weakness and begging him to make a play and come over the top. And as for the call on the river you weren't in a great spot (8 outs) however this player could easily be on a 7 or a 9 with a decent kicker. Maybe even TT or JJ or a draw. Making the lay down on the river is way too weak a play at this limit.

Well thats good to hear...my thinking was exactly that..of course when he went all in over the top of my turn bet...i kinda called crying..knowing i was likely up against a set...
I second guess myself...but im glad what you are sayign sorta is in line with how i was thinking during the hand.

yeah, you definately can't fold. You're significantly pot committed.
Play over pairs fast and run into set every once in awhile. It happens. These types of hands are easier to take when you have the proper roll for your game. (not saying you don't).

Nah i only moved 50 bucks from Pstars to FTP, just to diversify. Did ok taking it about 100, now its back down to about 50 again. I realise im playing outside of my BR of 50 dollars, but i just kinda wanted to float around the site and check stuff out. I liked their SnG's, and liked that they had Heads up limit hold em sng's at the 5 dollar level.
I think i found my niche for a few days, at least on full tilt, and thats the micro PLO tables...i put 10 bucks on two tables and doubled up on both tables within 15 minutes...
I might stick around there for a while, and see if i can grow my money in to a few hundred dollars before i start back in on the .25 / .50 NL games again..

Losing a buyin on this hand should not concern you the least. You had no overcards on the board and you put maximum pressure on draws and weaker pairs to call. It might, and I say this very candidly, have been possible to get away if you had a stack of 50. In this type of game I will buyin for the max and if I lose more than 5 I will rebuy. But don't beat yourself up for one more second about this one- you were just a bit unlucky to have unders come and somebody flop a set.
Some advive regarding your pot limit ventures as I am also a NL player who has found much success in the game: PLO is a very, very volatile game because good and bad players can have huge rushes and slumps. Before sitting at PLO games, whether you are shortstacking or not, you must have the appropriate bankroll. This means at least 10 max buyins or 30 or so if your are buying in min and trying to double up. Good Luck.

I think as of last night i had a little over 60 dollars in my FTP account.
I have been 2 tabling PLO .05 / .10 games..
Ive found it seriously is just a matter of playing good hands and pushing them hard. You will get tons and tons of action.
I folped the nuts yesterday with no flush draw..holding AK in my hand on a 10 J Q board...4 people in the pot. UTG bet pot...it was raised pot..then reraised pot...And of cours ei put em all in...
got calls around the table...hands were set of 10's 2 pair..and top pair...My straight held...and i took 3 people out in one hand...lol...
thats what im talkin about!

To talk more about the hand i originally posted.
This type of hand is always one of my biggest fears holding an overpair.
Such a tricky hand to get away from on an uncoordinated board. I think id probably always play it this way..but im always scared of the set...and probably always gonna make the calls crying...

low limit PLO is the easiest game to beat. just be prepared for huge downswings when people hit their draws on you.

Tough fold, but you CAN make it. Don't beat yourself up too much, the thing I would like to know is what did your gut tell you??? Always play tough spots like this from your gut instinct. There is no true answer should I call or fold. Go with you gut everytime. And if it is either right or wrong. Decipher exactly why?

Well i feel like i get some seriously bad beats alot, so im always playing my hands with the feeling like im behind. I try not to play differently, i try to keep my game the same, but i cant help but feeling like im playing into a suck out or whatever...
When he smooth called the flop bet, i said to myself, "watch this joker have KK or AA...Damnit!!
then when it was heads up on the turn...i had to be strong i thought, so i bet it strong...and he immediately went all in over me..I called immediatly but was already cussing when i did it..and then see'ing 33 made it 100% worse...cause once again...my premium hand got @ss'd out...It happens, and i always just accept it...but sh1t it would be nice to have it NOT happen for at least one session. I finished even last night, maybe slightly ahead, but i got the cards that should have led to me having a profitable session.
Same thing with the night before...i wont even go into that bad beat story, but a winning session turned into a loosing one with one runner runner suck out...
I just keep telling myself...one day...ONE DAY! ill get the best of it..and when i do...the whole world will PAY!

Heh...i guess my gut had mixed emotions.
After the call i got on the flop, i got a twinge in my ass though...thinking...damnit this is gonna get ugly...
so i guess my gut told me i was gonna be dropping my buy in on this hand.
