they recieved some publicity for their song on Garden State, but if that turns you off to them, don't let it.  They're awesome.

Download some random songs by them and listen.

The Richest Man in Babylon by Thievery Corporation is a great album....if you like that, check out Boards of Canada too.

Since I Left You is such a great song....I always reach for it when I'm in a bad mood. It's so simple and catchy, will get stuck in my head for days after I listen to it.

I've had "Glad All Over" by the Dave Clark Five stuck in my head tonight for some reason.....

Reporting back...amazing show.

He did a good mix of b-sides, and songs from Wilco's three most recent albums (Summerteeth, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and A Ghost Is Born), and also a few covers and new songs.

Tweedy is one of the best personalities in music today. Very distinct voice, awesome song writing, and some of the best between song banter I've ever heard. At one point people were yelling random stuff at him between songs, and he said:

"The best one of those I've ever heard was when someone yelled at me 'How did you get so insightful?' I thought about it, and told him that insight is overrated... He said, 'That's really insightful.'"

All in all, it was a brilliant show. The drummer from Wilco opened up with some solo drum/percussion stuff that he's done, and it was pretty good too. He also came out for the second and third encores to play drums on a few songs.

We just had Percussion week in the class I teach......so I listened to a lot of Buddy Rich, Tito Puente, Monk, and a whole bunch of people probably no one has ever heard of before.

oye como va is like, the greatest song ever.

lvpro, sounds like it was a great show. I have seen Wilco before and thought they put on an excellent show.....

Anyway, my album of the day is Scrolls of the Prophet by Peter Tosh....I would never normally recommend a greatest hits album, but this one is solid the entire way through. If you want one of his regular albums, get Equal Rights, or get Captured Live if you want to hear a live show, but this disc is worth picking up if you want to hear his best stuff. The only song I wish that could have made it on here is "No Nuclear War", but oh well.....

But my favorite song is Convenient Parking, in case you were wondering.

Carmina is great. It's like the only thing Orff ever composed....as he was heavy into the education of music.....but hey...if you are going to be a one hit wonder....Carmina Burana is a great way to do it.

My favorite recording of Carmina is with the Montreal (yeah..I know it's Canadian...but try to look past that  ) with Charles Dutoit conducting....it be good.

I'm sure it is! The time I saw it performed live I was in the 3rd row at the BSO. The percussion section damn near blew me away.

the only song ive heard off make believe is that beverly hills one, but its just so bad that the rest of the album cant be very good.

oh no wait, i heard another terrible song off that album on the radio. the chorus was just the whole band moaning some not even melodic line.

pinkerton or the blue self titled album are the way to go with weezer.

I have every Weezer album and yes the Blue Album is the best followed by Pinkerton and either Make Believe or Green with Maladroit being the worse.

Make Believe doesn't match up to the old albums but its new and I'm still listening to it cuz Weezer rocks.
