For some reason i'm listening to third eye blind, no idea why.

That freakin hook to "Never let you go" is infuriatingly catchy.

BTW Have you guys heard of Project Playlist? It's a site to create "playlists" via MP3 sites and link them to MySpace, Facebook etc. www.projectplaylist.com if you're interested. I like it.

Here are my playlists (I like metal/rock/some rap)

Wang-Wang, I assume you're well-versed in the rest of their catalog? Young Liars EP is off the chains.

well if you liked the show it seems odd that you wouldnt like the album but my favorites are Ankel Injuries, Cassettesingle, and Reeboks in Heaven. i dont think its an amazing album or anything but a lot of it is catchy and fun and it has some good electronic beats.

Yeah, I've heard it all. I'm not even THAT big of a fan. I think they're cool and I like them and all, but I'm not in love or anything. I have a feeling critics and fans appreciate them way more than I do.

Today I listened to a lot of Sufjan Stevens and Beach House and Twilight Sad. It feels very fall.
Dirtydutch
Really? TVotR is possibly among my 10 favorite bands.

Like them, don't love them. I realize I'm in the minority among hipsters here. They appeal to me, just not as much to me as others.

Other fall music: Yo La Tengo- I Am Not Afraind of You and I Will Beat Your Ass as well as I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One

Very fall.

Who is making that 80s mix, by the way? Somebody want me to make a fall mix?

A good portion of their awesomeness comes from the way they look:

Will you make me a shirt with a picture of his face and "Blackie Claus" written on it? I can think of other funny stuff involving that premise if you want. I just want the shirt.

Had you asked 3 months ago, it would be in the mail within 8 hours, free of charge; my close friend was running this cool store that among other things printed tshirts, so it would cost me maybe $5. Unfortunately he's in med school, now, and I'm stuck buying stock shirts like a chump.

Interesting that none of you ladies have mentioned the new J-Hova'. I had completely forgotten about it until just now. It's downloading as we speak.

That is intellectual property theft, and I'm appalled you'd consider doing it. I've ordered mine from AMAZON and it should be coming shortly.

Did you loose that data from your last hard drive? Why not just plug that bitch in?
Dirtydutch
Also, I'm three tracks in, and decidedly unimpressed, though beat-wise, this 4th track (Roc Boys) is better than the last three.

You're really not stealing, though. You all ready stole the int.prop.; you're not really stealing it again. You are, however, inconveniencing other thieves, and slowing down the rate at which things are being stolen. If anything, this is HELPING the record company. Way to go, capitalist pig.

Props to Diddy for nabbing a Little Beaver sample on "Party Life."
Dirtydutch
It definately gets better after the first quarter of the album.

American Gangster: done.

I took a ten-minute pause in the middle to shower for some reason, so I'm not sure if that threw it off, but it finish so much stronger than it started (again, this is first listen, and with a break), that I'm not sure what to make of it. I'll give it another spin, later, and get back to you.

Thought I'd post here aswell; I lsiten to alot of music;
Mainly metal/metalcore/melodeath etc and I have some Dutch hardcore and the only rap I got is from tupac.

Seems the rest here is into hiphop, noone into metal? I'll post the bands I listen to later when I get home.

I enjoy metal.. I'm not huge into it, but I have a couple metal friends that got me into what they are into...

stuff I like:

Death, Testament, King Diamond/mercyful fate, Priest, Slayer ( pretty much just Reign of blood), and a couple other random things.

all this talk about jazzzzzzz in the other thread got me missing all the jazz vinyl I sold when I moved, so I'm downloading a bunch of late era coltrane

No, actually we only listen to genres of music you've never heard of, unless we're being ironic. I'm pretty into World-Cani-core, which is mostly electronica fused with dog whistles. If you'd stop letting MTV tell you that you should only listen to music audible to the human ear, you'd realize that you're living in a paradigm, man.
Influcted
I don't listen to MTV at all besides Rockzone at Wednesday 12. am till 1. am and that's it? Was it ment sarcastic or anything? The stuff I usually listen to is never shown on a music channel or what so ever.

LOL to see if sarcasm was meant, I suggest you read this sentence a lil more closely..

Anyone know anything about the rapper "esham" and what album/albums I should check out?

Elvis Costello & The Attractions: This Year's Model

I'm listening to a lot of Fugees today. Lauryn Hill is a phenomenal artist.
Dirtydutch
Lauryn Hill is one of those singers who you have to see to know you'd rail 'em.
Dirtydutch
Relistening, I do dig American Gangster. It's just really lyrically stale. Highlight for Dutch is "Say Hello." It's a pretty popular type of sound in the South, right now, and Jay's flow actually adapts to this, which is refreshing. I almost wish he'd made the whole album with Toomp.

After all these years, I still don't understand the popularity of Biggie and Tupac. Never got into either of them. I've enjoyed a couple hits from both camps, but don't really care for either at all. I'll probably have another effort with Ready to Die at some point, but I doubt my results will very.

Also, I'm really digging the hook on "Party Life," from the new Jay 'Hova.
Dirtydutch
I'm enjoying Emerald City, right now.

Wow, what a great surprise. I didn't realize until last night (when I saw it on Tiny Mix Tapes) and this morning (when I saw it again on Pitchfork) that Grizzly Bear has a new EP out. I'm downloading it as we speak. Until I get it all downloaded and set up on my iPod I'll be listening to the entirety of Yellow House on my iPod.

Anyone who hasn't listened to Grizzly Bear should take my word for it and listen to Yellow House a few times.

Just listened to it. Not bad. There are definitely some really worthwhile tracks on it, but it also has 3 covers from other bands. If you're a Grizzly Bear fan, it's definitely worth it.

I just found out that Sufjan Stevens is playing the piano piece of The National's "Fake Empire." Am I the last person to know this? I suppose that explains why I love that track so much.

I think MK mentioned Yellow House like a year ago, and I downloaded a compression, which I'm only now unpacking. I have in the same untouched folder from that period:

Joanna Newsom

Beach House

Band of Horses
