Who here is really into rap? I need help picking out obscure, non-gangta' rap artists. I've liked almost everything in this direction I've been recommended. I used to think I hated rap but I think I just hate the rap that MTV plays. Also, which Black Star album is the best?

you might know some of this already but whatever.
you should download the Phi Life Cypher remix of Clint Eastwood (Gorillaz) from the G-Sides album (different artists do covers/remix of Gorillaz debut album)
if you like what you hear find Millenium Metaphors which is their first album. they are a bit hardcore but very talented. Jamaicans livin' in UK.
Jedi Mind Tricks have some good tracks. I'd start with I against I, sacrifice, trinity and heavenly divine. also a bit hardcore but talented.
Lone Catalysts - Due Process Ft. Talib Kweli, Dynomite
J. Rawls (dj from lone catalysts also did the 'Brown Skin Lady' Track from Blackstar album) - Great Live Caper, Birds of a Feather
not sure if what you're lookin' for but I like em so take it for what it's worth
EDIT: also
J-Live - Them That's Not, Don't Play

Alright, you guys kick ***. Now I'm taking non-rap suggestions as well. If possible, I'd like to see one album to download, and a few other artists/albums to check out if I like it. 500 points for every suggestion I like (Cannibal Ox gets 1000). I'm sick to death of most of my music, and I now have 15 free gigs. Begin.
