Right now, my favorite Elliot Smith album, Either/Or.

Either/Or is your favorite? I always had a thing for XO....

I love them all, but I think XO is his masterpiece. Feelin bad never sounded so good. Whenever you think you've accomplished something as a songwriter, listen to XO and you will realize you write songs as well as pond scum.

MK just turned me on to them.

Glad you like them. Q-tip probably isn't the best technical m.c. but he's still my favorite. His flow is so smooth and lyrics are so amazing compared to everything else that was being made in that era. He completely reinvented conscious hip hop. Gotten any Mos Def or Black Star yet?

I have no problem with Kim Thayil shredding some drop-d.

Don't laugh. "Promiscuous" by Nelly Furtado is a hottttttt track. Timbaland is the sickest producer in that genre.

The Black Angel's Death Song by Velvet Underground.

Man, that sounds goth. Lou Reed needs to work on that.

Favorite VU album?

Die hards go for White Light/White Heat, but I def enjoy listening to the Warhol album more.

White Light/White Heat is a great album (love "Here She Comes Now"), but there's no comparison between that and the Nico album. Velvet Underground & Nico is hands down one of the 10 best albums ever made.

I'm partial to From A Basement on the Hill, but that's probably just because if was my first Elliott Smith album.

Yeah, I was late to the party.

Oh ok, i don't really know weezer by albums, just some of their songs. ( I don't really listen to a whole lot of music).

I think Ben Folds in general is underrated. He is absolutely amazing on the piano, and his songs are super catchy.

Spartan Fidelity - Excava 11

For those of you who like Remy Zero, particularly Villa Elaine, you may want to take a listen. Spartan Fidelity has two members of Remy Zero. It's not a great album imo, but is decent, and at least interesting and worth a listen.

My boss just sent me the new Dj Shadow album. Alot more mainstream then his older stuff, but good nonetheless.

I only said those things because I think you must feel all alone in this thread. Poor Golden.

I'll come right out and say it...

I like Dave Matthews Band.

I get along with lots of people because I can discuss music with almost anybody and have similar tastes. I like a lot of stuff.

In sticking with the theme of the thread, tonight I listened to Give Up by The Postal Service, and then Lucy Ford by Atmosphere.
