U2 has not made a good album since Achtung Baby. The latest album they made is by far the worst one yet.

I have never liked DMB since the very first time I heard him bellow out "What would you say?" Yes, I understand all the arguments...."you have to see him live". I went and saw him live my junior year of high school. I gave it a shot and was kind of pumped since Galactic opened, and I am a Galactic fan. Anyway, the Dave performance was on my list of the 3 worst concerts I have ever seen. I find it hard to believe that he is still on the radar, but he'll have a cult following forever, just like a Jimmy Buffett, so he can have more chances to dump all the sewage and s*it out of his bus and into lakes and rivers.

Anyway, today I am going to give the new Los Lonely Boys album a try. I want to hear the new Keane album as well, I dug the first one for a while. Got to get my favorite CD release of the last few months out as well, Surprise by Paul Simon.

It's a*bit* more than a cult following at this point

Dave Matthews probably has some musical talent, but he's not the God that everyone seems to think he is.

Thom Yorke is that Gad.

Take MBreon's Amen, and put that duuub on it. I also hate that band.

A band was brought up in another thread, and I normally would have flamed, but it was a totally inapproprate place to flame some ( I know, I know, I showed concience and restraint in flaming someone, I think it's a first on here). But I just can't let it go, becuase this band sucks so fuking bad.

Offspring are fuking last.

And I have this wierd soft spot for nine's brit pop. Love oasis first two albums. Love Love pulp ( Common people is one of my favorite songs ever. Reminded me of so many twats at college ( If you guys start seeing me use more and more random british slang, it's cause I'm now contributing to that Chavscum.com message board, and british slang makes me giggle).

Here's a question (prefixed with a statement):

My friends jerk off to a band I refuse to listen to, based on how much I hate my friends, call The Shins. Are they as completely shitty as I assume?
Golden
I've never heard them. But I am going to blindly assume that they are terrible.

I'll just change the name "Golden" to "Clive Davis", remove the word "never," and change "blindly assume" to "deliver my expert opinion", then I'll throw it in their faces!

Yes BigD, The Offspring are no good. I also still really hate Oasis, I always thought Blur and Radiohead were the best British bands of the `90s. Dutch, The Shins aren't bad, not as good as all the hype, but still worth listening to. mk is right, download Chutes Too Narrow and give it a shot.

This morning, I am going to go for some Led Zeppelin III, Screamadelica by Primal Scream, and My Aim is True by Elvis Costello.

Yeah, The Shins are pretty good. I don't think they're the Simon and Garfunkel act that Zach Braff does, but they've got some catchy tunes and a few slots in my iPod currently.

I'm trying to like Sufjan, but I can't do it. I've been listening to Illinois, and I find it repels me. Any of you Sufjan fans, did you have an adverse reaction at first also? Should I keep trying?

iPod on shuffle.

Just heard "A Praise Chorus" by Jimmy Eat World

Currently hearing "A Punchup At A Wedding" by Radiohead

And you haven't lived until you've seen Sigur Ros live. It's really the best concert I've ever been too (except for those ones with those five blokes from England).

I had a chance to see them live, but I passed it up! It was summer 2001, and about 2 weeks before I became a fan. Oh well.

I prefer () to Takk, but they're all masterpieces imo.

I think I may just give up for a while, try again in a week or so. Judging from reviews on Amazon, it seems you either love him, or hate him, not much in between. Or maybe that's just the nature of reviews, you only review them if you love them or hate them. Whatever, I suspect I may hate his music, but I won't give up yet. Maybe I'll try his other stuff as you suggest.
