Ran bad last night on the micro table for a while...
I was dealth 170 hands roughly, and played 4 total pots, netting about 38.00 in loss when i finally got up.
For one i just wasn't see'ing a playable hand, felt desperate, which probably started my downslide...Then after 3 really tough beats, i started to play very meak...then i finally got up from the table before i blew another 30 or 40 bucks...
what started off the losses was the following:
Then i get dealt 66. Im in EP+2 so i just call the quarter, as im usually one to try and see a cheap flop from EP with a small pair.
Flop comes down 236. Seems safe enough. I bet out about 1/4 the pot. get 3 callers. Im thinking some maybe on over cards, and maybe a gutshot thrown in for good measure.
turn comes 8 (still no flush draws, but its getting too coordinated for my liking) so i pot it here...everyone folds, and i get another smooth call from a MP.
River brings an K
I check it, he bets enough to put me all in...Probably clouded thinking on my part...but i call it...
Ill try something different and let you guys see if you can put him on a hand. If you can put him on a hand that beats 666, what is your line here, and why? Cause i got sucked right into this one, definately not a bad beat, just bad luck for me.

hmm.. I lose a lot of money here. I likely lead for 3/4 pot or C/R this flop.
if you got caught by 45, well that just sucks. You had a decent amount of outs on the flop though. :-) I can't see a whole lot you could have done on this hand.

Was there any raising preflop?? if there were you're still in danger..
3/4 of the pot would diff give you an answer you're looking for...
1/4 is only sweetening the pot and any draw will call

Well you are right he had the 4/5
And i was hoping you would say that...I was hoping i just didn't open my eyes big enough to see what was going on.
I told him great hand, and reloaded...then the next hand flopped top two pair (AQ) against a small set...while some kid at the table started berating me constantly for loosing two big hands...rofl...i dont really understand people online sometimes, internet turns the science fair nerds into bullies.
Sometimes when you walk into a big loosing hand you wonder if there was something you could have done to lessen the loss, or play it better..etc...but i looked at it a few times, and i just don't see being able to not loose money on either one of those hands.
and before all of you say it...im not trying to make a bad beat post...i seriously am trying to learn from hands, to hopefully make myself more apt to see what im walking into next time.

No it was all limps preflop.
I bet out small hoping to draw in some callers, hoping the people playing AK or AJ or KQ KJ would catch their tptk on the turn, then jamm the turn hard and hopefully get paid off. the table was playing ultra loose while i sat back and watched..So it seem'd like a profitable play if i had the right reads.
turns out i was up against the nuts, so of course my jamming only committed me when i was drawing almost dead.

thats the danger of limping.... almost every flop is very dangerous
when you have alot of poeple limping.... without weeding out the trash hands even if you have AA or KK beware you can loose all you chips
to 10 2 off

I think an EP+2 limp with 66 is ok, but you needed to bet the flop harder than 1/4 the pot. People will call with gutshots at these levels if you pot it. put in a healthy bet.

I probably play it about the same. I like the quarter pot bet if the flop's a little less coordinated (A4, A5, 45, 65, are all likely to be calling.)
If it's say, 962, I like a quarter pot bet.
I'm guessing someone flopped the straight, or you wouldn't have posted it, but, in all reality, you've got a solid hand. You're losing to exactly three hands, KK, 88 and 45. KK is out of the question, 88 and 45 are possible.
For all practical purposes you have the "3rd nuts" here(we're not giving anyone credit for KK).
You played it fine, I think. I likely check/raise the flop though.

Yea he limped with 4/5 and flopped the nut straight.
I got blind sided and never saw it coming.

Not every hand you lose is because of a bad play. Sometimes you get cold-decked, and there's just nothing you can do.
I do agree that you should have bet at least half the pot on the flop, but it wouldn't have made a difference here in the long run.
