Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q:heart:, A:diamond:.
UTG raises, UTG calls.
Flop: (10 SB) 3:diamond:, K:heart:, 8:diamond: (3 players)
SB checks, UTG bets, SB calls, UTG calls.
Turn: (8 BB) T:spade: (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks.
So I think my 3-bet from UTG+1 is REALLY questionable, my only defense of it is that I'm playing .5/1 so people will make that raise with A7+ and QK
Looking back on the hand I think my flop raise is pretty foolish. Yes the pot is big, and If my ace high is best i'm protecting my hand, and there's a good chance that i'm shutting the SB out of the pot, HOWEVER I showed a LOT of strength 3-betting pf from UTG+1 and UTG still bets into me...? I think this is gonna be 3 bet by UTG very very often. Let me know your thoughts on the raise =)
Then I pick up my first true clean outs (My ace isn't really an out if he's playing AK, AA or KK which he would appear to be playing on the flop), since he just called my flop raise do I have any fold equity? Is there a decent chance that he just didn't pay attention to the strength I showed PF and bet the flop with 1010, jj or qq (or maybe even AQ)? Or is the play clearly to just check behind (I rarely take freecards, but this seems like a decent place to do it)
thx
