The converter is crapping out on me =(, so I'll do this one by hand (I may get the number of bets slightly wrong, but plz bear with me)

fredsr111 was 83/24/3.75 over 74 hands (really more of a maniac than a lag)
damonster666 was 89/0/0.75 over 9 hands.

final pot = 30.25 bb

I felt lost this entire hand. I 3bet preflop because the guy was really aggressive and I felt like even oop, he wouldn't be that tricky to play against. (this 3bet would be pretty standard against anyone, no?)

I capped the flop because I felt like this guy was full of it, and we were taking another guy along for the ride (nice overlay incase my maniacal friend had gotten lucky and hit 2 pair)

I didn't like the jacks pairing on the turn (as either of them could easily be playing a jack) so i slowed down, but I feel like against an opponent this aggressive I may have missed 2 bb, and maybe 1 or 2 more from the other guy still around.

I was in calldown mode on the river, but it still scared me whitless when my quiet friend starting betting. Looking back on it now, I feel like maybe this should have been a fold (maybe this is an easy fold, I have no idea, but the pot was monstrous)? Assuming it's going to get capped (pretty easy assumption I think) i'm getting like 7:1 to call. Maybe i'm good 80% against the maniac, but how often am I good against this guy waking up on the river?

I'd lead the flop and the river.

The calling station isn't that passive when we consider how many hands he sees a flop with.

I was gonna say as played the river might be close but I think you're splitting here alot (and a 30+bb pot is way to big).

If you lead and it gets raised and re-raised behind u i'd also call.

About the flop lead; I didn't do it because I was like 99% sure that the maniac was going to bet (everytime I saw him raise a pot preflop, he capped like every other street), and I wanted to protect my hand with a c/r incase the other guy had a gutshot.

Leading out would probably trap the passive player for a couple bets, but the pot was already a reasonable size, so I just wanted to take it down.

I know that getting this checked through would be really bad news, but the aggressive player was REALLY REALLY aggressive today (maybe he was tilting too, or something).

Anyhow, I would be interested in hearing your reasons for leading out, because I probably missed something important =)

Very good point on the c/r. I was thinking that a c/r might actually slow an agressive villain down, and he wouldn't 3-bet (obviously he did this time, but i'm saying usually).

However, I like the point about shutiing out the middle players with a c/r.

P.S judging from your three threads today, u seem like a decent enough player ( i know ur new). You shouldn't have ANY problem beating .50/1. If you hit a downswing, keep ur confidence ur up.
