Villian seemed somewhat LAGGy, and not super good (I'd seen him show down some real shit), but that said, I hadn't really seen enough hands with him to get a good read.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A:heart:, A:spade:.
2 folds, BB calls, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) Q:heart:, 9:club:, 6:club: (4 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (7.25 BB) 2:spade: (2 players)
UTG+2 bets, Hero calls.

River: (9.25 BB) 7:diamond: (2 players)
UTG+2 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 11.25 BB

Is this line ok? or do I cap the flop, and lead the turn if checked to (and just call down if not)?

Exactly what you siad. Cap the flop and call down if lead into. If checked to on the turn bet, and hope you don't get c/r.

if he's a not-so-strong Lag, the only hand you fear is 66. QQ and usually 99 will be rasied preflop. You are drawing live enough against a huckle two pair (borrowing TJ's word) to get more aggressive.

Since you are HU after his 3-bet, I like the call.
But POP the turn.

Call down if 3bet.

You made a preflop raise in pos, you could have a wide range of hands. I'ts not like you capped preflop and his aggression means "Set" more often. See?

against stronger opponents I prefer the flop cap since their reaction on the turn will be more telling.

the more Laggy-Bad he is, the more I like waitng for the turn to raise for value.

PLEASE cap the flop.

Call down if you're led into from there on out.
