I went to Amazon and plugged that name into a search. This came up in a review of a book by that author:
"...not only was LeRoy subjected to mental and physical cruelty beyond the scope of imagining as a child, but he also attempted to be a woman most of his life."

I met an a$$hole-ish, poker playing writer from Boston who happened to be traveling the country with his mid teen ish daughter which might be something a recently divorced father might do with his daughter. Plus the name Smasharoo is from a child's book. He had a child.
I doubt its him but it sure seemed like it at the time.

For the confused...
Smasharoo is a romance novelist; at least that is what he claims to do for a living. Not sure if he writes for Harlequin, but if not, something similar.
His real name is Tim Donahue; at least that is what he has said on this forum.
He will not reveal the name under which he writes.

Who cares? Smash is an uppity jerkoff who treats 90% of the people on this site like the floormat he wipes his shoes on.

15668 members x 10% = 1566 people
You really think there's 1500+ people on this site that Smash doesn't hold in complete and total contempt?
Better go with 99.9% (15 people), I think that's closer to the truth.
Other than that, I have to agree.

He also happens to rock at poker... and people might learn a thing or two if they can swallow their own pride, laugh, and learn form him.

Surely he knows plenty. I agree he is a very knowledgable person. But learning at the cost of being humiliated. Id rather learn from someone else. There are alot of other very good players on this site too.

Maybe. But as his posts helped me improve my game, a lot (credit also goes to Kdawg, wrto, iceman, and some more), I really don't care. Actually, a lot of his replies make me laugh.

What you aren't understanding is that the fact that there
are a lot of good players on this site is a testament to Smash. Not only has he taught all the great players a lot, the fact that he was talking strategy when this site was a bunch of unmoderated drivel helped the forums specialize into what strategy is today.
There isn't a doubt in my mind that he's the 2nd most important reason to this site's success, behind Daniel Negreanu, and a huge reason the strategy section is what it is today.

Why arent YOU understanding the simple fact that i would rather learn from someone else (whether they originally learned their strategy from smash or not) then talk to smash because i think hes a condescending *******. Its as simple as that. I dont care if he found a cure for cancer, the simple fact that he belittles almost everyone is why i dont like him. Its just my opinion of him. Im not saying hes worthless to this forum.

Do you guys REALLY believe Smash is a Romance Novelist?
He's a character. He invented a character to use on a poker forum. He's a very good card player, and he's a funny guy.
But if you buy that whole "I'm a romance novelist" thing, than you've lost it. It's supposed to be tongue in cheek, kinda.

In the younger days of this forum the question came up and smash defended it with credible regularity.
He also made references to his vocation if you read the blog he used to post in his sig.
