Ace of Aces tournament on PokerRoom. 58 left, 20 cash, $150 buyin.

I started out poorly, started with 5000 chips. 166 started, and I have about 12000.

Moved to this table 3 rounds ago, everyone was super tight. Blinds 300/600, I had about 7k when I started this table and was building quickly by taking down blinds.

UTG hadn't played a hand since I got to the table, he raises to 1500. I have KK in SB, and reraise to 3500. He instantly pushes for about 14k total.

Given this information, is there any way I can fold this hand given my table domination and reads on other players. Sorry if it's a stupid question, but it has been eating me up for a while.

The answer depends on what your expectations are with the tournament. Do you care if you place in the money or not, or is your sole objective to win the tournament? That is key 8)

nahhh. Either way this is a call. If I understand the OP, hero had 12k chips to start, so the push was really to 12k. He's getting better than 1.5:1 odds, and even if you limit villains range to AA, KK, AK youre only a 53:47 dog.

Since hero has been a bit of a bully since getting to the table villain could be playing back with even less, trying to make a stand.

For me and probably 99.7% of the forum posters/lurkers, I would agree that it is a call. I am sure that I can find 0.3% of the forum posters/lurkers out there who would rather slide into the money at that stage, rather than risk going broke with pocket kings.

Youre right about that...probably the same .3% who would say don't raise with them in the first place...just in case.

I'm not advocating folding them to slide into the money at all. I am wondering if it would be a smart fold considering my range had him on about 40% AA, 40% QQ, and 20% AK. Given how I had been rolling over the table, I could build back and build more without showing down a hand often. I'm not saying it was the right play, but it could be one of those weird plays that is right in a certain spot.
