Reading some post here and in other forums, I gather playing in low limit sit and gos is a good way to start playing. How would a newbie (me) find help in developing a stragety to play single table tournaments?

TAG for 4 levels. Pure AG the rest of the way.

Seriously though, someone give him real advice. If I wasn't at work I would post a link to that sit-n-go site that has all kinds of articles about how to play each level of sit-n-go. Unfortunately, I am so I do not have the bookmark.

Read Howard Lederer's treatise on the S&G:

Others may disagree, but I view S&G's in a similar manner to Howard: I play them moreso for the final table experience they give rather than a means to seriously enhance my bankroll. Be prepared to become proficient at them and still lose a lot. Variance is extremely high on most sites due to poor structure. PokerStars and Full Tilt offer the best structures, imo.

Looks like HL has been reading my posts on Sngs lol. The one thing he missed is that once you are in the money, when he suggests turning your game toward more gambling, is that because there were only nine players to start, ouve almost always got a chance to move up, even though youve played TAG.

In a MTT limping into the money can mean you have almost no chance at the big one, because youve got a much smaller % of the total chips.

I half-expected you to say that after Bizzle made his post

TAG=Tight Aggressive style.

AG= Aggressive.

For Sit n Gos, Definitely No limit. Rarely will you even see limit Sngs even run, and there are many donks in NL Sngs. Start at the lowest limits, if you have half a brain working you will be able to win at those. Search in General Strategy forum for Steve7Stud's Sit n Go strategy, it will give you a good base to start with.
