Decided to play some party tonight.. posting is so much better when you can just run it through the converter.

SB was new to the table
BB 78/0/29/18 Open Farrelled on more than one occasion.
UTG 32/19/2.85/ 142

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is Button with [Jh], [Kd].
UTG raises, BB calls.

KJo is one of my weaknesses.. Here I figured though.. In position against loose opponents this is worth a flop right?

Flop: (6.50 SB) [Kc], [9h], [4s] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls.

Top Pair and no agression the bet is pretty easy.. 3 bet ok?

Turn: (7.75 BB) [Kh] (3 players)
BB bets, BB calls.

BB coming alive when the second king hits I figure it means he either has a king with a weaker kicker (since he didn't bet the flop or preflop) or a smaller pair thinking that the second K ment I didn't have one..

River: (11.75 BB) [3h] (2 players)
BB bets, BB calls.
Blank on the river.. donk bet.. trips are good often enough right? Plan to call reraise?

Final Pot: 15.75 BB
Actuary
preflop:
Raise if you can outplay him post flop
Fold if you cant

dont call.

River: I just call.

Preflop is significantly bad.

The problem is... even with position... heads up against a raise, KJ is dominated entirely too many times.

A-anything is 60/40 ahead (or worse when you're dominated), JJ-AA has you crushed, KQ is 70/30 ahead, and other pocket pairs are coinflips. A flush will rarely bail you out, because you're offsuit.

On the flop he's probably trying to tell you his kicker is better.

the raisers stats indicate we are not in bad shape.

Don't you think we can raise here, if our post flop skills are superior?

That's a good point...

Ergh. How big is the bottom end of his raising range, and how many suited connectors/small pairs do you think we're talking here?

Position, + 3-bet, + our naturally superior skills against a 29% raiser...

Yeah, KJ is probably ahead more than behind, and [3-bet ~= fold] > call...

I guess I'm saying there's probably an edge... but it's not one I'm crazy about exploring. I don't think we need to make it harder than it is.
