I believe it's a European thing - and yes they are high denomination

The Aviation club de France is also some sort of game circle with -EV casino games (baccara, blackjack, etc...). Those squared chips are used in european casinos for high denomination.

It is to be noted that, in the few existing legal french game circles (not in casinos, of course), once taxes, operating expenses, and wages have been paid, all profits go to charities. iirc, the ACF profits go to the widows and orphans of military pilots.

They are 10,000 dollers each. Why don't they have any 5,000 doller chips?

They are called plaques, and they do come in denominations of 1000 and up. If they only used 10k plaques in the tourney it was probably to make counting stacks easier.

5000 not too difficult. One stack is 100000.

but they now use (Dede the responsable of tourneys with 2girls and Isabelle Mercier for the wpt) new chips for the bog tourneys which seem to be the same as the vegas chips

It's not that small. In usual times There are 5 tables in the cash games room, 3 more cash game tables in the corridor (which they don't always open), and 4 tournament tables in the little tournament room.

During the regular tournaments, all of those tables usually have players and for the big tournaments, they add tables in the other parts of the club.



Andre/Dede is a very nice tournament director. Isabelle Mercier is more "high profile" D

Are you usually playing the thursday night's rebuy/addon limit HE tourney ? It's my favorite. I rarely miss one.

They had similar things in the Monaco tournaments, it was pretty funny to watch Ivey try to shuffle them like regular chips LOL
