Does he need an excuse? Besides maybe his choice of words I dont find what Dannenmann was pointing out was out of line at all... Hellmuth was being a jerk and wasnt doing the "proper" thing by having his chips all messed up like someone knocked them over. It slows down the game and makes it even more difficult when someone wants to know a chip count. Dannenmann had every right for what he said.

????
Hellmuth didn't deserve all that. I would have liked to have seen the 30 minutes leading up to that point but can't. I thought it was settled that Dannenmann is crazy and Hellmuth rocks.

I got the feeling that there might have been more to the situation "behind the scenes" that ESPN editing didn't allow us to see.
I will say that even if Dannenman was out of line in that specific situation, it's hard to argue that Hellmuth doesn't deserve a little of what Dannenman gave him, if not from Dannenman himself.

As I said on a different thread, I thought that situation escalated ridiculously fast.
First it was "Phil, you're being rude by not stacking your chips blah blah blah"
Then two seconds later, "NO ONE SHOULD BUY YOUR BOOKS OR DVDS!!!YOU'RE A PUNK!!!"
Sure Hellmuth was being a jerk, but it didn't make any sense why Danenman would get so heated that fast over something like that. I can see if Hellmuth shot back with something out of line after the first comments, but that pretty much came out of nowhere.
