4 folds, SB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (6 SB) Q:club:, T:heart:, 8:spade: (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP2 bets, SB calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 7:club: (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP2 bets, SB calls, Hero calls.


We good? If you fold anywhere in the hand, please explain why...

PS - Ho ho ho.

I'd sometimes fold pf. Depending on the pf raiser and my mood. I don't think calling is a mistake.

I don't fold on the flop or turn.

I fold preflop.

Why? Because I don't like my chances against a MP2 raiser getting 5:1

Much depends on read on him, as well as, what SB will call with here.

I call with KJ (sometimes, as I begin to play more from BB)

Well, you may not like your chances, but what is the worst case for us? I can think of three:

a) One or more opponents has an overpair (not likely here)

One or more opponents has a pair > 9 (not terribly likely, but possible)

c) One or more opponents has a better king

The rest of the hands give us a virtual coin flip HU, and more than enough equity to call with 2 opponents.

So since you're an actuary, Actuary, are we up against any of those often enough to warrant folding this hand without reads?

I don't think it's a huge mistake to call, just slight one.

I don't call with it in the CO afte 4 limpers; I'm sure as heck not calling now given a pfr and pos. If MP2 is LAggy, or if its the Button, I usually call here. I give Mp2 more respect

Hehe, you misunderstand. I'm not arguing that my play was best... I'm honestly asking how often these bad scenarios crop up to warrant folding.

I don't think the PF call is +EV, but I don't think it's -EV either. I'm looking for confirmation of an argument to the contrary
