If those stats are over an decent # of hands I just call the river as well. His 3 betting range has to be a max of AKs AA, KK and QQ. QQ doesnt play the turn that way and we are in trouble vs everything else. So as is i'm just calling the river.

How many hands on the SB? He is clearly very loose passive from his stats. He has to have a monster here, AK or AA. I don't mind just calling here.

Well played.

can someone explain why the flop call is best here?

im usually lost in these situations and go with a raise or fold line.

Why are we calling this flop? I'd just fold there. Do you really think the implied odds justify drawing at two outs here? (Maybe they do.... here the pot wound up big enough here to justify it, except that A on the river probably killed you - although I wouldn't be shocked if villain already had quad kings).

You'll probably win the hand about 9/10 times that you catch on the turn, and you're ~22-1 to catch, and the pot's laying 12-1. So you'd have to expect your opponents to put in more than 6 BB's on the turn and river in order to show a profit. I think that might be right around what you can expect on average with two players in.

So I think maybe the flop call is probably close to break-even here, although I lean toward folding, since I think there's a good chance MP has nothing and will fold the turn, in which case I doubt you're getting 6 bets out of SB. Had MP folded, I think you have an easy fold on the flop.

What range do you put villain on?

Well, we're probably behind. Villian could have AQ/99 here, so it's too early to give up just yet. With these hands, he may well check the turn, so while it doesn't seem like we're getting quite the odds we need to hit a 2-outter, the chance that he checks the turn with hands we beat makes this a call. It's close though.

You saw SB's stats, right? 51/1/1. I really doubt he's 3-betting from the SB w/ AQ or 99.

But, I think you're right that the possibility of getting a free river card, combined with the implied odds if we catch on the turn, make this an ok call.

I saw his stats. I just chose to ignore them in my reply. I've been doing that a lot today. I read posts and my brain only picks up on certain things. Ignore my posts until after new years.

I think the flop is a lot closer now.
