Limp Bizkit, not so much. I like the Faith cover and maybe one or two others. Again, a little too commercial for me. Fred Durst let his pecker do his thinking.

I hear what your saying. You remind me a bit of a good friend of mine. He and I have similar taste in music....we known each other for years, and grew up on the same music. But he has this thing about commerical music...like he has to not like it. (He hates Nickelback too, btw).
And I say this....because a particular band or song is highly commercial does not automatically make it good....but by the same token does not automatically make it bad either. And conversely...the same applies for more obscure music. There's some very good music that is not mainstream...and there's also some bad stuff that sucks and that's why it stays obscure.
Side related note. I've like Metallica for quite a long time, but this same friend of mine was not really into them. However, he bought a new car recently that has DVD audio. I guess you can only a few albums in DVD audio...and Metallica happens to be a band that puts out music in DVD audio format. So he bought the black album....I got to listen to some of it the other night, so loud it would make your ears bleed...but the sound quality....I swear it was like a sexual experience.

I don't think something is bad b/c it's overplayed. I just get tired of it, and irritated if it's on every 5 minutes.
I do like knowing about a band that not many other people do, then it becomes popular 6 months later. That's everyone though.
For instance. Fall Out Boy, I had their CD a while ago and I liked it. Now, the are huge and they played an awards show and every 12 year old girl was singing along. I immediately became embarrassed that I enjoyed the same music as teeny bobber girls.
Couple of good bands you've probably never heard of
Gratitude
Snow Patrol (the final straw cd, song 7 is one of my favorite songs of all time)
Jimmy Eat World (you've probably heard of them, but check out the song No Sensitivity if you can find it, it's on an EP. Another top 10 song of all time. and their album Clarity)
Funny cd update:
The Dan Band put out a live album of all female singer songs. It's great.
(they are the wedding band from old school and Starsky and Hutch.

You know what makes me feel better?
While rolled up aces over kings, check-raising stupid tourists at the Taj, and stacks and stacks so high I can barely see over them, nothing really cheers me up like a good old fashioned quick hitter shopping spree.
I held off on the computer for a bit. Instead, I just bought a 20" LCD Monitor. to attach to my laptop. It's hooked up now and it's sick.
Now I can do old thread, new thread, and tables with ease. I'm psyched.
The hookup right now is golden, too. 100% redneckI wanted it to be on the coffee table so I can use it in front of the TV, but the monitor power cord isn't long enough, so I have the 30 ft extension cord that's mounted on the garage wall running through the laundry room into the living room. I'll figure out something more permanent later.
Now that this is set-up, I'm gonna hook up the HDTV DVR receiver. I got a big HDTV Monitor when I moved in, but there weren't enough HDTV stations at the time to make the receiver worth it. I'm ready for the big bowl games now, though. So, I'm off to hook that up.

The $700 was what held me back before. I love the DVR though, and need it on the big screen. The DVR was $599, but came with a $200 rebate, so only $400. A regular HD tuner was gonna be $200, so I got the DVR. Now I just need to decide if I put the old DVR in the bedroom or not.

Football is sick in HD.
I need some HD porn now.
Do it. You can never have enough DVR.

I have the HD receiver in the living room on the 50" and the DVR in my bedroom.
I couldn't pull the trigger on the $700 bucks to record in HD. I like my set up.
Now I need the antenna that gets my local channels in HD.

Already done. It was really a stupid question. In fact, it wasn't even a question.
I'm not happy about the extra antenna needed for the local HD channels. I'm gonna need that myself. But ESPN is what it's all about, baby, although I do want to be able to see the bowls on ABC in HD.

About to start a 5K freeroll (better odds in this one, only 127 people entered, pays 30), so wish me luck!
I'll find you when I bust out!

It's on Noble. I signed up for Noble for bonus and such a long time ago using PokerNews link. Once a month they spread a 5K freeroll. I don't play on Noble any more, but for a freeroll? Why not.
