I'm headed to Vegas tomorrow and though I have been there several times, this is going to be my first trip where poker will be my primary game, and I'm looking for advice on where to play.

I'm thinking I will play 3/6 and $100 buy-in No-Limit, as well as try some tournaments ($50-$200 buy-ins).

Thanks.

Most places don't have 3/6.... it's usually 2/4 or 4/8.

There is some 3/6 at Aladdin I think.

I would suggest playing a 200-max NL game though. Blinds will be at 1/2, why would you wanna be shorstacked?

I like the new room at the MGM. A lot of people like the Mirage, but it's kind of a dump (relatively speaking) and the competition is tougher than some other places.

Played mostly at the Wynn last time I was out, and I think it's my new favorite. The room's beautiful, drinks/staff were excellent, the wait was short, and they have daily NLHE tourneys within your price range.

The wait was too long at the Bellagio for me.

I like the $200 flat buy-in No Limit Game at the Bellagio with $2/$5 blinds. This week the wait shouldn't be too bad. I would definitely play $4/$8 at the Wynn-- the poker room is incredible. You won't see too many 3/6 games around.

As far as small-stakes tournaments go, Sahara and Binion's run pretty good touranments. The Sahara's is $40 + 1 $20 rebuy and the blinds are not too bad until the very end.

Definitely the best game.... if you enjoy having enough chips to play one hand before you need to rebuy or be shorstacked.

I played quite a bit at the Aladdin. I liked the room, and they were very accomodating. I'd play there again the next time I go out. Also I played in the tourney at the Sahara, and it was OK.

The last time I was there they also had a couple of very affordable daily tournaments.

try the casinos....

It really depends where you are staying. The only game I play is NLHE and all of the bigger casinos on the strip will have juicy games.

If you are staying on the south end of the strip try Mandalay Bay or MGM

If you are staying in the middle end or a little north of there (really north as far as the Wynn) play at the Wynn or the Mirage, I also read that Ceasears is opening a card room.

If you are staying farther north or downtown try the Golden Nuggett they have a really really soft 1-2 game.

Sorry I couldnt help out with the tourneys but check in the back of Cardplayer I am sure they have pages and pages of toureneys in Vegas.
