Most Middle Eastern countries hate the Jews, they blame the Jews for everything bad in there region. They hate the Israeli occupation of Palestine, even as they are pulling out. It seems all these radical regimes have no one else to blame but the Jews. Unfortunately a large percentage of Muslim countries share the same feelings as the Iranian president but do not express it publicly. It is just another anti-semitic, idiotic statement by a psycho....who by the way, would love to aim a nuke at Israel.

yep, I don't "understand" religion. That's it. Seriously though, religion is the cause of SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many of the world's problems, we'd be better off without it....

yah because the bad done has clearly overtaken all the good, if im not mistaken you once stated you were a history major, you should know more than anyone why wars are started, MONEY, POWER, not religion has caused all this, lets get rid of money that causes problems, and without the catholic church during the dark ages we wouldent have civilization as we know it, like it or not its the foundation of western civilization

Did I say that religion is the #1 cause of problems in the world?? No. It clearly is not, I am not saying that, but it is a cause of a lot of the world's problems. And you're right, without the catholic church, we might not have civilization "as we know it." Yeah, maybe it would have been better, and maybe not. We'll never know, but don't tell me "religion" is the only reason anything "good" happens in life, or anything else like that. Sure, there are good things about it, and therr are bad things. I just don't like it at all.....once I die, whatever happens to me happens to me, I'm not gonna try and learn about something that I can't possibly understand and try to argue/fight about stuff which humans can't even comprehend. I choose to just not worry about it and instead, focus on following one rule: don't do anything to other people unless you can handle other people doing it to you. Religion sucks.

I can understand why people get behind wacky ideas sometimes, but holocaust denial is not one I can get my mind around. Really, how much evidence is necessary?

Without the Catholic Church in the dark ages? Give me a break.. besides a few monks in ireland, the catholic church completely suppressed science and enlightenment, and was basically the CAUSE of the darkness the dark ages is named after.

The MOORS on the other hand, were the bastion of science and learning, and preserver of knowledge from the pre catholic times.

You say things like Money power not religion, as if religion doesn't go together with money and power like chocolate and peanut butter. While it has cleaned itself up tremendously of late (and by clean, I mean by comaparison, becuase I still think it's corrupt) the catholic church is one of the richest, most powerful, and historically corrupt organizations in history.

I do think to say "religion causes so many of the worlds problems we'd be better off without it" is a little wrong headed. If history has taught us anything, it's the masses need opiates.

also, let me rephrase my original statement. I didn't mean to say that religion in itself is bad. I meant that religion as it is today and throughout much of history is a bad thing IMO, and that we'd be better off without religion IN THAT SENSE. I think religion could be had in a much diffferent way (yeah, 3 F's)......and that religion as it is now is very divisive and causes a lot of problems
