buncha dinks from the 1/2 tables play that think they're great or somethin like that....not a horrible structure, but you do need some hands in the first couple levels...not nearly as bad as Derby Lanes olf tourney setup

derby lane's setup is atrocious, and the staff is even worse.
was playing one of their 'turbos' because i got there too late for the night tourney...start with 1000 chips, blinds were 100/200 before i posted the first time.
douchebag spilled his drink all over the table and his cards, which not only had to be cleaned up, but started an argument with the dealer about whether he'd incur a penalty for showing his hand because he turned his cards up *during the hand* to dry them off.
then still called with Q5o.

I played in one a couple of months ago on a Wednesday night. It was the largest live tourney I have ever played in... both in size (120 participants) and money, $240.
I came in 21st and did not make any money. But I got a couple of hours of game play in. Just like any other tourney, there were some good players, a bunch of clowns and a few who it was tough to tell if they were good or just catching cards.
For the most part, the game was well organized. I had a lot of fun even though I kept getting horrible cards for most of the night.
I would like to play another. I was hoping that in January or February a bunch of FCPers could meet out there for the weekend. They have $40 sattelites running for the $240 game.

How was the tourney structure? Ive played in the $85+15 before, and I believe each level was 15 minutes. Is it adjusted at all in the $240? There were some all right players in the $100, but certainly nothing spectacular.

I wish I could remember. I think starting chips were 10,000 100/200 blinds and either 15 or 20 minutes for each level.
I know it was simular to the boat and the home game I play. Wish I remembered better. Sorry.

I've played in the $200+$40 tourneys before. I won my seat via the satelight.
The play in both events was horrible.
In the $200+$40 tournament, I made it down to the final table and my pocket queens were picked off by a river ace, when he called me with A7 os.
I hate that place and I don't play B&M Poker in the state of florida

the hard rock casino in hollywood. I've been there before, MTT don't seem too bad, but granny did runner runner straight w/ 72o against my pocket aces in the 2-2 games. after this beat my buddy said, "i love the old ladies." he was asked to get up from the table.

I couldn't agree more mrgibb. I've made some money there (finished 4th in the $500 monthly tourney and won just over $8,900), but don't really like the place at all.
When I finished 4th, my As, Ks (all-in pre-flop from the SB for just over $24,000) was called by the button who held 8d ,10d... he hit a 10 on the turn to bust me.
The tournament structure sucks and about 80% of the players are complete donks that take forever and a day to make a decision ON NEARLY EVERY HAND THEY PLAY.
If you like rubbing elbows with a bunch of chain smoking donkeys... the Hard Rock Tampa is definitely for you...

Everything that was said there is true also.
Obne time i moved in preflop with pocket aces, buy in seat 3 looked at his cards and said...
"I guess I have to call"
He turns over Q-10. Hits queen and ten on the flop.
What part of that hand ment you ahd to call?
Give me a break.
