The Final table is currently being played right now, should be a good one.

So far Darrell Dickens has put in a pre-flop raise in 6 out of the 11 hands played. It'll be interesting to see if he continues to be super agressive or if he eventually gets caught.

Hand #30 - Joanne J.J. Liu has the button in seat 4, Antonius raises to $200,000, and Laak thinks for a while before he pushes all of his chips ($2,060,000) into the middle from the small blind. Brunson folds from the big blind, and Antonius immediately calls -- with pocket aces (Ah-As). Laak is upset with himself as he shows Kd-3c, and he's a big underdog here.

The flop comes Ks-Js-10d, and Laak picks up a pair of kings to give himself a fighting chance with five outs. The turn card is the Ad, which means Laak cannot win the pot -- although a queen on the river would put a straight on the board to chop the pot. But the last card is the 5h, and Phil "Unabomber" Laak is eliminated in sixth place, earning $160,995.

What the heck was Laak thinking??? Wow that was a super bonehead play.

Guess he's lurking on the boards...no pinch pinch for you Phil. laugh.gif

is there an internet broadcast?
nell789
No, just the live updates on cardplayer.com
bulldog999
Phil must secretly post here and had a hard-on to play the Krablar.

That must really suck to play great for 4 days and piss your tournament away for no reason with the k-3 offsuit.

That play makes Tiffany Williamson look like Johnny Chan.
XXEddie
there no reason to puch allin

if he thinks he's on a steal he should made it 600k-ish
nell789
Yeah, he was in very good chip position too...wasn't really shortstacked.

Darrell dickens seems to be falling apart, calling with weak hands, and his over agressive image is getting him in trouble.
gkunit20
Two of the three guys I wanted to win are out so I gotta root for Doyle now. (Cassidy and Laak were the others.) JJ can't win because Jen has to be the first women to win a WPT title.
gkunit20
At least this final table isn't 89 hands long.
nell789
Darrell Dickens (Gigabet) is out after losing a coinflip with his 44 vs AJ

Antonius is dominating.

until this...

Hand #71 - Patrik Antonius has the button in seat 2, he raises to $300,000, and Liu calls from the big blind. The flop comes Ac-7c-6h, and both players check. The turn card is the 3c (putting three clubs on the board), Liu bets $300,000, and Antonius calls. The river card is the 9d, Liu checks, Antonius bets $1,000,000, and Liu thinks for about two minutes before calling. Antonius shows 4-2 (the nut low), and Liu shows A-J (pair of aces) to win.
Emptyeye
I love how they felt the need to point out that he had the nut low.

do you know what you are even talkn about?

patrik is raising and reraisink like crazy...laak tried to make a move and ran into aces...bad timing...

that play wouldve worked 9 out of 10 times against patrik

again, WHY RISK YOUR ENTIRE STACK

a raise to 700k does the same thing and if patirck calls the 700k as opposed to the 2 mil, Laak is down to 1.3 mil, not ZERO

I agree with you.Reraising is right. Also I understand why he moved in in stead of just raising to 700k.Patrik is super agrisvive and can very easily come over the top of a 700 k raise with a marginal hand and take the pot away from phil.BTW Doyle has doubled up to the lead.

ya im pulln for doyle...but that patric guy is relentlous...he wont stop...

one of these hands doyle is gunna trap him and that patrik guy will be drawing dead when 10 million chips go in the middle
SFkid
looks like doyle will have to move soon with the blins going up.
nell789
What's whit doyle limping all the time. I mean it's fine if you're setting up a trap, but with the blinds so high so fast, there's no time for that anymore....FIV is very important right now, It's basically the bubble of a party sng.
SFkid
wow doyle doubles up again. it is truly anyones game now.

3 handed - with 2nd and 3rd so close, one of two things is going to happen:

1. Antonius will steamroll brunson & pederson, and one of them will pick him off, and take them chip lead.

2. Brunson will play position over Pederson, and eventually cripple him.

If Brunson and Pederson give Antonius no chance to take their stacks, this will remain anyone's game. If Antonius eliminates either player, it's going to be an interesting comeback story heads up.
HangukMiguk
Wow...as I typed that, Doyle did exactly that.

I'm clairvoyant

I dont know if there is enough time to set at trap. It will most likely come to a heads up match between doyle and antonius. It will be a coin flip from there.

right now, doyle really needs to be the one to bust shortstacked pederson. he really needs the 2:1 chip lead.

letting antonius do the deed pretty much puts them dead even. doyle may be able to outplay him, but with the blinds so close to the threshold of being shortstacked, do you really wanna risk it?
SFkid
Right now Doyle only has a silght edge on these guys. They might be a little hestant to gamble with Doyle on marginal hands because of the difference in prize money. But otherwise it really will be up to the cards.
SFkid
I think the fear of losing half a million is kicking in with the last few hands being folded to the big blind.

Title: Rehne Pedersen Doubles Through Doyle Brunson
Log: Hand #134 - Doyle Brunson has the button in seat 6, and everyone folds to Pedersen in the big blind, giving him the blinds and antes.

Hand #135 - Patrik Antonius has the button in seat 2, Pedersen moves all in for over $3 million from the small blind, and Brunson calls. Brunson shows Ah-7d, and he's racing against Pedersen's pocket deuces (2c-2d).

The flop comes Kc-Qd-8c, and Pedersen's pocket pair is still in the lead. The turn card is the 10c, and Pedersen picks up a flush draw to go with his pocket pair. The river card is the 6c, and Pedersen makes a club flush to win the hand and double up to over $6,500,000 in chips.

Title: Patrik Antonius Doubles Through Doyle Brunson
Log:
Hand #145 - Rehne Pedersen has the button in seat 3, Brunson moves all in from the small blind, and Antonius thinks for a bit before calling all in ($3,680,000) from the big blind. Brunson shows Ad-6d, but he's dominated by Antonius's Ac-9s.

The flop comes As-8s-7h, and both players flop a pair of aces, but Antonius's kicker is higher than the other two cards on the board. The turn card is the Qc, and Brunson needs to catch a six to win, or a seven or eight to chop. The river card is the 2d, and Antonius wins the hand with his higher kicker to double up in chips.

looks like you guys need to pull for him more, hes shortstack

Hand #170 - Patrik Antonius has the button, he moves all in, and Pedersen immediately calls with Ad-4d. Antonius is dominated As-Ks. Pedersen needs to improve to stay alive here, as Antonius has a few more chips.

The flop comes 7h-6s-5d, and Pedersen picks up an open-ended straight draw, and he suddenly has a lot of outs. The turn card is the 3s, and Pedersen hits his straight. But now Antonius has picked up a flush draw, and lots of people in the audience start chanting, "Spade! Spade! Spade! Spade!"

The river card is the 10h, and Rehne Pedersen wins the hand with a seven-high straight to double up in chips. The new chip counts:

Rehne Pedersen - $16,500,000
Patrik Antonius - $150,000

Hand #171 - Rehne Pedersen has the button, and Antonius is forced all in for the big blind. The players flip over their cards, and Antonius has Ks-7s against Pedersen's pocket eights (8c-8s). Antonius needs to improve to stay alive.

The flop comes 9d-6c-3s, and Pedersen retains the lead. The turn card is the 3c, and Antonius needs to catch a king to survive. The river card is the Jc, and Patrik Antonius is eliminated in second place, earning $1,046,470.

Rehne Pedersen wins the 2005 WPT Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic, winning $2,078,185, a gold-and-diamond bracelet, and a $25,500 entry into the season-ending WPT World Championship.
