FCPers Hey, Long time reader first time poster so here goes during a tourney on Pac Poker today a situation happened and I am curious as to what others would have done....I was in the BB with AK of Diamonds the button raised 150 dbling the BB of course I call flop comes Jd 10d As I bet out 375 with the royal flush draw straight draw and top pair button straight calls turn is 2d giving me my nut flush and near as i can tell a blank for him so i fired out another 375 another straight call river card is the 2 clubs i fired out my last 600 he had me coverd by about 100 chips again a straight call.

button ends up flipping over pocket 2's giving him 4 of a kind busting myflush.

So my question is this, what could I have done to get paid on this hand and why after me firing out those chips with that board did he call all the wa y down like that

Consider reraising preflop. Push on the turn. It wasn't a poorly played hand. The guy obviously didn't know how to play and got a little lucky. He had ten outs going to the river and hit one. No big deal.
Chugg007
how could this have been reraised I bet out since i was first to act but basically your saying he got lucky?
CoolHandLaw
re-raise preflop ...and yes, he got lucky is what he said

This hand boils down to whether or not you raise this preflop.

If you feel comfortable playing the hand out of position against this player, then re-raise, it'll probably need to be a substantial raise, and then followed up by leading out with a large bet/check raise on the flop.

I don't know that I dislike the way you played it.

But, yes, he did play his hand like a complete jack ass.

I'd be more aggressive in the early rounds in general. Re-raise pre-flop and all-in post flop. So,

pre-flop: reraise to 450.
post-flop: bet the rest cause the pot will be so large that I'd have to put in the 900 or so you had.

Top pair, top draw (flush and straight) is a hand that I feel comfortable dying on. If he's going to river/river quads then oh well! I want him making two very, very bad decisions.

This post boils down to whether or not you post this once or twice. Me, I go for the single post: it gets the point across without repeating myself.

Other people may argue that there is merit in the double (or even triple) post. The double post allows the point to be hammered home with emphasis with the added bonus of padding your post count...

The irony of accidentally quoting my above post (given its content) is delicious. The best part is: it was a total accident (talk about a donk play!)

Ofcourse, had I thought of this joke, I wouldn't have hesitated to quote my own post for added irony... I just wish I could claim that it wasn't an accident...

Cheers!

Yeah, I considered deleting my second post, but I was laughing too hard: I will stand by all my donk plays and posts -- the entertainment value of my stupidity alone is well worth any bruised ego!

...and my ego could use a good bruisiing now and then...

Heh.

If I deleted every dumb post I've made I'd have a post count of 12.

I had a bad run last night when I was all hyped up on effedrine and no sleep and made some ridiculous posts.
