I've never been to any card rooms outside the casinos in Atlantic City. I'm going to Daytona beach this weekend and intend on spending some time at the card room there. should i expect this to be the same as the card rooms in AC?
I'm really just looking for a 2-5 no limit game, i dont know what to expect though.
its also wierd cause all the card rooms are a race tracks too.

HAHAHA are you kidding?!?! Not only is there a max bet limit in the entire state of $2 max, Gov Bush managed to shutdown all no limit tournaments (typically $40 buy ins) in order to promote the "health and wellfare" of the state. Somehow losing 40 in a tourny is more dangerous than sitting at a table for 10 hours and losing $1000.

Go to the Indian Casinos...they have MTT's and SNG's ranging from $45 buyins to $1,000 buyins.

dont listen to these guys they're crazy the 2 max is a good game, where else can you make 20$ in 6 hours. And the entertainment is great you get to experience so many different smells; from the smell of feces covered in burning hair to something that smells like bigfoots dick. You also get the luxury of people winning a capped pre flop pot with 8,3 offsuit and saying "I just wanted to prove a point that any 2 cards can win"

I live in North Flordia in the exciting capital city. I had heard that there was a few card rooms close. Jasper and at some Dog Park south of here. I looked them up and was excited to find that it wasnt a dream. Than a few days ago before taken a road trip to one of these places I did another web search and saw that they were shutting down the card rooms untill the legislature could do something. Not sure what??? Anyone know if they are still running the games, even if they are limit?

I have been exploring the same. I'm temporarily in the West Palm area, far south of Daytona. Apparently the only option is some suspect-lloking casino cruise.
I have spent some time in Daytona, the only room that springs to mind is in fact part of the greyhound track. Local posters likely have more info however.
