BB is 38.5/7.7/1.25
Button is 77/15.4/1.14

After the action on the flop, I think the button is drawing (who knows with stats like those), but the BB has at least a pair as he does not seem like the type of player to cap a draw, even a strong one. My first inclination is that he has 2 pair, so when the river card pairs the board I figure my hand is good. However, I am not sure how to play the turn as I am OOP and was raised then re-raised on the flop by the BB - what action do you suggest?

I'm not really well-versed in short-handed play, but analysing this may well help me as much as you, so here I go.

As you said, the button could have just about anything here...has he been showing down a lot? If so, with what?

BB's play confuses me here. Shows nothing but strength until the river where he just calls your donk bet? I'm actually thinking you may have been ahead the whole time here--it's possible he defended with Tx, hit top pair and went nuts, putting you on a couple high cards that missed. As an aside, "I put him on two pair so when the board paired I thought I was good" is a dangerous way of thinking--depending on when you made that read, the board pairing means there's a 1/2 to 2/3 chance he just filled up.

In conclusion, I probably lead the turn anyway--if BB raises then, you can be reasonably sure he can beat your overpair--and call down if I get raised.

definitely a good point - rather specious reasoning on my part. I think the fact that it was the lowest card on the flop pairing that led to my reasoning that it helped me, but of course he could have been playing 75 whereas I was thinking T7 - again, just tried to put him on a hand and go with it.

SH play opponents have wider ranges.
And they often don't believe you.

Lead the turn, call if raised.

I like that river. I think you should bet/call it.
