Preflop: Hero is SB with K:heart:, K:spade:.
2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (16 SB) 6:spade:, T:diamond:, Q:heart: (4 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

Turn: (10 BB) 8:spade: (4 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

River: (14 BB) T:spade: (4 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, Hero folds

I was calling one.

My check invited a steal attempt.; but Mr passive post-flop raising got my Attention. T I figured.

figured some might say "Lead out, so you can call one raise. Don't put yourself in this position"

of course as played, we call one bet from anyone, and overcalls.

I'm all for value betting into fields, but this river just sucks. I love the check/call 1, fold 2 idea.

I agree with the concensus; you're getting the odds to call a single bet here, but the raise from Mr. Passive both reduces your odds AND signals that he can beat your single pair, even if it's an overpair to the board.
