what are you doing if 3 bet on turn?
and he leads river?
and he checks river?

Hmm.. Call 3 bet, check/call river?

What would you do in this situation?

I call the turn.
Call river or bet/call if checked to.
I don't think that my way is better.
I'm just hating a 3-bet on the turn and I want to encourage worse hands to continue.

Reasons I gay-bet: My hand is strong; and I think the villan might be raising the flop for a free card. I wait for a safe turn to bet.

I'm not sure why others gaybet.

I can read this as he's charging you to draw on the trun in case you were rasing for a free card. Then when you raise (semi bluff, maybe, in his eyes, or you have legit hand) he gets nervous about his weak Ace.

If villan has 77-88-TT-JJ (passive ?) you might win less if he can fold

I hate my hand if he 3-bets; but calling down is good; getting 5.8:1. ooh boy.You have to call turn 3-bet for all the outs you may still have.
Then the river will be 12:1, so call.

That explains another reason I don't raise the turn. Timidness.

That's how.

A turn bet like this often indicates a made hand that doesn't want to give a free card to a flush draw.

If you are 3-bet, consider folding.

Edit: scrap that.

It's very player dependent.

You might have to call and fold the river UI.

There's a theme I need to get a grip on.
Face aggression with agggression then fold/backdown to re-re-aggression.
I tend to face aggression with passiveness, unless I can handle re-re-aggression. When a 3-bet makes me hate my hand, I don't raise. I miss lots of value; but I save mouses.

I can't fold the river with TP2K
I can't fold the turn with our outs
I don't raise turn.

Ok, while I know not to be results-oriented, but he ended up have q5 offsuit here...

He bet the turn when he made bottom pair

And he called on the river with it....

Is this typical of these players? If so, I don't know how if can be unprofitable for me to raise this turn for value. Hell, he could be doing this with a weaker Q, or anything.

I don't know, maybe this guy was just worse than average.

don't be so eager to share results.
lets others opine.

I know once you have my opinion, thats's enough.
But new guys like Screech like to try to test their wits as well.

cool.

Yeah, fair enough... lol

I really think that is something that could be used as a part of the discussion here though. As in, nobody is putting him on that hand, so maybe it happens more than we think that we are still in the lead. I don't know. I was just thinking it could add to the discussion, and maybe broaden the range of hands we put him on.

Small Blind probably has a weak ace or a flush draw. Well played.

I still like your line. I still like my read. I probably call the turn if 3-bet and call the river too. If he 3-bets I'm most likely not betting the river if checked to.
