Fold on the flop is correct.

Pretty crazy preflop. Its a relatively easy call from your standpoint as when you hit a set you're winning a monster pot. Probly a mix between some decent hands and a lot of donks.

Three different people raise at some point preflop here, and two of them after limping.

CO calls, then SB raises, then UTG calls, CO then 3 bets, SB just calls, and UTG caps it. It makes no sense. If I recall correctly, CO had KK, so why the crap was he limping into a field of 8 players, with only 3 left to act behind him. The whole hand makes no sense.

Nothing makes sense. I do think I'm going crazy here... lol

Hero folds pre-flop when it's 2-cold back to him. I stopped reading after that.

*edited to add* I'm pretty sure I CO has specifically AA or KK here with his limp/re-raise play. UTG probably decided to cap because he thought it would be fun to build a huge pot. I know your implied odds are huge here but I still stand by my decision to fold the 77. I don't like putting in a bunch of bets pre-flop with a hand that will only win if you hit the set. That said, I guess the call might be mathematically profitable, but I'm too tired to run numbers right now. I dunno, I probably still fold it.

*one more edit* Ok, 7-way pot, I guess it's probably ok to call preflop.

You really think so? 8 people in the pot, considering the implied odds if I do hit my set, I would love to see the flop with 8 people in any pot with 77.

If it were a small pot, then I would be folding here aswell, but it was clear that this would be a huge pot.

See my edits above. I obviously didn't take the ridiculous action into account, so you can pretty much pay no attention to my ramblings at the moment. I should be asleep anyway, though I really wish I was playing on that table you were at right now.

CO's play confuses the hell out of me here. Why is he limp-raising from the CO... it makes NO sense at all, especially with AA or KK. How can you do that from LP like that? Stupid play. He got very luck one of the 3 people behind him raised, if that was his thinking.

I think it should be pretty clear by now that CO is a donkey. I see the limp/re-raise very rarely in limit hold'em and I've never seen it not mean AA or KK; personally I think it's about the gayest play in all of poker (right up there with the min-raise in NL), but I digress. At this point CO is pretty much being idiotic since there are so many in already, but he's probably a donkey who plays these hands this way every time or something.

Bottom line, there is no logic to his play here...at least not sound logic. Stop expecting donkeys to think like real poker players. laugh.gif
