No great reeads on the table, only played 30 or so hands. Button was the pre-flop agressor, and continued on the flop, so when I hit my flush on the turn I checked assuming he'd continue to bet.

Is my turn c/r large enough?

When the board pairs the river, and my stack size is less than 1/2 the pot, what's my action?

That was my thinking. Figured I'd either take it down, get called and win, or I'd have to call if I checked and was put in, right?
Mattnxtc
either way ur gonna be put to a test for all ur chips in this situation... unless u have a monster read on him for pkt queens or aks then you are in good shape

Would you have bet the turn any differently?
Mattnxtc
eh ur turn bet is alright...30 may be a better bet but it was a good c/r

On the turn, he has to call $18 to win$54 ($18 + $6 + $6 + $24) so he's getting 3-1 to see the river so if he does have a set he's almost getting even money to call. If you think it's possible that he already has a set, you probably need to raise more to increase the likely hood that he folds.

But if he's as aggresive as you say and he does have a set, he's likely to call any turn raise as not too many players at $50 Party NL have the displine to release a set with 1 card to come.

Given that, I think your turn raise was fine, maybe should've been a little larger like pot size $30.

On the river pairing the board, if you know you would call an all-in from him, might as well push first and pray (to steal a line from Mattx...)

Since I know that if I check, I'm going to call because I'd be getting $100/$30, I'd be more inclined to make a small bet $10 to try and induce a bluff on the river.

I wouldn't think he'd call a $30 bet with Top Pair on a board with straight, flush and boat possibilities.
