Yep.

Well, two different opinions about this one from Navy and Jack. This is EXACTLY why I posted it, as I was unsure of whether to play it or not from that position.

Seemed correct at the time for me to fold it, as I had terrible position, and an unsuited ace. Sure, I had 4 low cards, but I had little prospects for scooping, and it is hands like that which can lead to getting 3/4'ed very easily IMO (at the levels I play at least - where any ace 2 will be played, and (seemingly) and suited aces and sometimes kings).

More contemplation is required. :?

It is LO8, isn't it?

Your four cards are quite well-coordinated, aren't they?

If this isn't the hand to play, what is? 5c 8c 6h 10h at the SB?

I knew you were tight Rocket, but damn!

Remember this is LIMIT O/8, position is a plus, but it's much less valuable than in PLO8. This is an auto-limp regardless of position, and I am probably raising it in LP. See those 4 limpers ahead of you? You probably hold a better hand than all of them. I don't think I have ever mucked A246 preflop in LO8 in an unraised pot.
Raindog
Well, he is actually UTG, those other 4 people limp in after he folds.

However:

I have to agree with. I am usually one of the tightest players at my table and folding in this situation wouldn't even cross my mind.

Yeah, thats why I said this was an auto limp. Limping allows you to get those four people with A3, A4, KJT8, or worse into the hand. Now raising, that would be not as smart since you might get worse hands to fold preflop. It is best to try to draw trashier hands in with a limp.

Also rocket has a 6! So if he does hit a wheel, he does have a chance to three-quarter.

Ironically, the first time I got AA23 (ds) was UTG. Of course the flop bricked though, ugh.
KVOM
I would call UTG and call a raise as well.

I don't play LO8 except in S&Gs occasionally; the only time I would fold is when calling puts me all-in heads-up in a tournament.
Rocketwadster
Still a bunch of differing opinions, but leaning more towards a call pre-flop UTG here with these cards...

i will recant my previous post. (i think recant is the right word).

i didnt realie it was limit. (i gotta work on my reading skills).

but still it was kind of a slight joke.

it's a very easy limp from first. but i might fold to a three bet depending on who the raisers are. (no real flush opportunities to speak of)

sorry for the confusion.

I think that comment there is worse than my "bad" fold UTG with this non-suited hand. :?
