Hey all, so Ive been playing this game for about two weeks now and have been fairing well in the low limit cash games. I played my first tourney today and am actually still involved and doing pretty well. I basically use the same strategy as holdem in reference to playing different types of hands at different levels of the tourney.

It is extremely evident that late on in the tourneys, I can no longer wait for big starting hands, and must use position and aggression to take down blinds amongst other things. Now I know that I need to start making moves, but since I am so new to this game, I just need some help with what types of hands to start making moves with? Good hands to steal blinds? and any sort of position help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to anyone who will help me out.

The important thing is just to survive. Just play your normal game for the first few rounds. When the antes go up you need to start being more aggressive. Try not to commit too much, though, unless you've got the goods, but if you can get shorter stacks all in on 4th or 5th and your hand is reasonable, you should go for it. Really, at a certain point stud hi/lo tourneys just turn into a crap shoot since the stakes become so high compared with the stacks. It's all about surviving long enough to get yourself in with a chance.
