Sheesh... it's not that cut and dry.

I typically go for a check-raise here against an aggressive opponent. Free cards won't cost us the pot very often. We're worried about funky backdoor counterfeiting draws that can cost us half the pot, and the occassional backdoor flush draw, which is unlikely.

He's going to bet any set, any ace, any two pair, and most pair-gutshot combos unless he thinks you hit your hand, and even then he seems aggressive enough to fire even with reason to believe you caught up.

The ace means he's likely slowing down w/o a set or AJ/AT, so I think our best bet is to try a c/r on the turn, and ram and jam any non-board pairing river.

I hate DrZebra

If you lead out you can get 3-bets in: it's that cut and dry.

If you check this turn, 1 of 2 bad things will happen:

1) it will get checked through
2) MP will bet, and we will face the field with 2 cold

I'd much rather bet and have MP raise so we can 3-bet. We will win this pot well more than 70% of the time. Betting out will maximize the money we get in on the turn.

I love Ice, he gives great advice, but I think you're wrong here.

do we necessarily wanna 3 bet though? shouldnt we be worried that if we 3 bet that we may cause the limpers to fold for 2 when they may have called for 1 more bet?

They will be much more inclined to fold for 2 if you c/r than if you bet-3-bet. On this draw heavy board, they may not fold anyway. Even if they do, no big deal. If it goes bet-call-call-raise-call-call-call, your opponents have put in 6BB. If it goes bet-call-call-raise-3bet-fold-fold-call, they have put in 5BB. If one of them calls the 3-bet, they put in 7BB...and so on, and so on.

im not too fond of DrZebra either but i think its pretty cut and dry, ice.

If he has KJ or something he may check behind on the turn. That sucks. We've represented a whiffed ace so if he has any big hand (i.e. two pair or trips) we are getting 3-bets in. If he has a weak hand, we get a bet in or more sinse there are 2 players between us where he may check behind and cost us up to 3 bets.

PS. of coarse we want to 3-bet. If those donks called a bet on the turn when we stop n go they are probably coming along for another 2 bets.

Yeah, holy balls, I am so rusty

What the hell, I thought we were heads up. Yeah, DrZ was right, this is a pretty easy lead-out.

And 3-betting is a must, too. We can't give people with gutshots and backdoor draws the odds to catch up. A set might even cap for us.

Zebra, I'm sorry I told you that you were wrong.

You're still a sack, though. And I still don't like you.

How are the vegas games going, Mr WRTO?

really good. Been calling the Bellagio my office lately. The games are amazing but I still play alot online. Just moved into a new house (3,300 sqft, poker table, ping pong table, 60" TV, and a basketball court in the backyard). Hopefully things stay good.

Hey, way to go. Always nice when a compatriot finds success. Couldn't be happier for you, Chris. Congratulations on the success.

That being said, you gonna be able to put me up next time my buddy and I make it into town?

Cheers,

Rock.

If I remembered half the hands I played when I got into the casino I'd be better off than I was last trip.

thats up to you. But if you're going to try and remember your hands could you remember mine for me?

actually, we could just go play 100x craps and not have to remember a thing.

Lead out - you've got two people inbetween you and the flop raiser. Hopefully you can trap them for extra bets
