In the newest Card Player magazine Freddy Deeb had some pretty good advice on NL hold em.
Here are a few quotes from the article:
"It doesn't matter how good players are. Eventually, they will fall and make a mista"ke. Your goal is ot outplay them by making fewer mistakes. You wait for them to slip. In no-limit, all it takes is one mistake and the player is finished. If you can minimize your mistakes, you have a leg up on anyone you play."
"You don't have to be a great player to make money. You can be an OK player , do the right thing, and make a great living. You can be the greatest poker player on earth, but if you don't do the right thing, you will go broke over and over and over again.
"Lots of players think no-limit is a bluffing game, but you have to have a hand. Maybe you have a big draw and miss, and you bet. Now, if you have to bluff, you bluff. But you don't come into the pot with the intention of bluffing. That is the wrong approach."

I read that one. I'm still reeling over the story of him turning something like $60 into 100k the first time he stepped into a California cardroom.

Yeah that really is sick.. I have similar stories from people around Atlantic City.
Here's one for ya. There is a kid that is a regular at the Taj. In fact, he pretty much lives there. One Saturday he won the 12 noon tournament for about 5k. He decided to go play $100 dollar hands of blackjack so he could get a room comped. He went on a really nice rush and started playing $500 dollar hands. He ran the 5k up to 23k and left the table. He took a break and went to dinner. When he came back to the poker room he heard that Johnny Chan and a few others were coming in and they were running a 400-800 game. He sat in the game with 23k and about two hours later he ran it up to 48k. Now this is a kid who isn't that well off. He took the 48k and got himself a private blackjack table and lost all of it. Every last cent. A few days later I was playing 2-4 Omaha Hi-lo with him at 6 am, lol.
