screech, this is definetly a case of playing a little too much short handed. When you get raised like that on the flop, you are most likely beat, and as long as the board comes good for us, I want to get to showdown cheap.

I think the raise on the turn is a little too much and for what it cost you to raise, you could've gotten to showdown

I'd be more inclined to 3-bet the flop than raise the turn. I'd be more inclined to call down than do either though. Is this PF call standard with only 2 limpers?

My thinking on the turn raise was that if I get 3-bet, I'm usually drawing to between 0-2 outs. I really don't give up that much by not seeing showdown.

After UTG checked the turn, I thought there was a good chance he was just making a play at the pot on the flop with something like a gutshot/overs/another 8. If it cost me 2BB to see showdown anyway, I would like to invest them now because it gives me the chance to fold many of UTG's live hands.

I don't know how correct this line of thinking is. But if I don't express, than I'll never konw why it's wrong. :-)

The move your trying to use does not apply to this situation. With a raise before the flop and fairly heavy action on the flop and three players going to the turn you are likely beat. If it was a two way pot it is understandable that you might raise in late position putting in both bets on the turn and obviously hoping to take the pot right there. However you are playing three handed and could be re raised by not one but two players, and when this happens you are pretty much forced to lay down your hand and you losing your opportunity of going to showdown. Personally in this situation i would be hard pressed to even go to a showdown with this hand as it is probably beat 80% of the time.

anyone else think this flop call is pretty marginal? I only call there with that few limpers if i'm one-tabling or maybe paying attention to two-tables. without decent table reads i wouldn't call that, even in the CO without a bunch of limpers

good first post

I would give serious consideration to folding the turn when MP2 check/calls 2 cold on the flop and then leads the turn. Consideration may have been the wrong word.

Fold to the flop raise, sucker.

Yeah, I like to show down the 32nd nuts 4 handed too. Win a lot of money that way.

Oh wait.

OPs play in this pot is terrible, just terrible.

The raise AND the overcall of two cold into you on the flop mean it's time to fold. WTF are you drawing at? I'd fold to that action getting 70 to 1.

It's not hard.

good luck.

i'm inclined to three-bet the flop and bet/fold the turn when they check to me. if it's capped, i fold the turn UI.

given that you didn't three-bet, i think this raise/fold line on the turn is okay given that UTG might have an 8 in his hand and you often beat MP2

You're kidding right?

either this is results oriented thinking or you decided to throw logic out the window.

Def time to fold once Mp2 comes out firing and UTG already raised you on the flop.
