After not playing online cash games for about 6 mon. I decided to get my feet wet again last night. This is the first time that i've used the converter, so if it comes out bad I'll try to fix it. BTW, this $.25/.50 game was waaaaaaaaaaaay tighter that the $2/5 live games I play.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

MP1 ($49.50)
MP2 ($76.60)
CO ($18.05)
Button ($8.80)
SB ($39.30)
BB ($39.85)
UTG ($22.25)
Hero ($73.20)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with K:club:, K:diamond:.
1 fold.

Flop: ($12.50) T:heart:, J:club:, 3:diamond: (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $5, Hero calls $5.

Turn: ($37.30) 8:diamond: (3 players, 1 all-in)
SB bets $25.3 (All-In), Hero calls $25.30.

River: ($87.90) 4:heart: (3 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: $87.90

I know one of my leaks is not being able to give up AA or KK. It was early in the game and didn't have much of a read on any of the players.

I call. Putting SB on AJ. :?
DrZebra
why did you smooth call on the flop?
move in.
so what if he had J10, it happens, but moving in is the right move on the flop.

I agree with that. I had brain cramp, I admit it. It would not have changed the outcome, but it is still the right play.

Definitely move in on the flop.

Now for the mess you've gotten yourself into, I'm probably calling. Only hands I fear are 33, TT, JJ, QQ, and AA. Actually, the more I look at this the easier it is to call because it's obvious that an overpair calls here, for better or worse.

Seeing the size of the stacks you should theoretically be able to get away from KK when you know you are beat. SB had around 40 at the beginning of this hand and usually that is enough to allow for a lot of play postflop. What changes all this is the PF raise to 4. I would love to have 8xBB raises called by 2 players when I have KK but I think the fact that there was 12 in the pot on the flop made this hand harder to play. your bet of 5 I believe was too small and makes a call from KQ a must (not bad for you though). I think if you bet 8-10 on the flop, say SB reraises to 16-20- normally I would like to reraise for info, but considering he only has 16-20 left, the only move is allin. If you lost here I wouldn't beat yourself up too much, but you had to realize that on the flop your hand is too big to let go considering pot and stack size and also that the best chance of winning is by raising allin.

Thanks for the replies. I should have moved in on the flop, he had AA. It wouldn't have made a difference, but I still played it wrong.

YOu say the 2/5 Live games are looser than this, where do you play ? Just curious. I need to get out of my broken down city and play some live games I think.

CA and Vegas. I sat with a local at Bellagio last month and he told me that a $300 night is slow for a Sat. here. Alot of "stargazers" go to Bellagio to see Brunson, Danny, Ivey, etc. and sit down without a clue.

Every 1/2 or 2/5 NL game I've sat at live is looser than the $.25/.50 online games. It's alot of fun, believe me laugh.gif laugh.gif
