Ya a pretty good hand....depends what you put him on...if its a pair of kings or queens only I might bet like 10 dollars hoping to induce a call, but with the pot size moving all in or making another very large bet isn't a bad thing, and there's almost no chance he has a boat.

Thanks Jack. Interesting.
Yeah, I put him on a pair of kings or pair of queens with a weak kicker. He might have K8 or Q8 or something like this or he might just have a gutshot straight draw because he will bet his draws the same way. He likes to bet on the flop a lot.
Do you think maybe my bets are too big ? The thing is that every table is so different at this limit.
What I don't like is betting $6 on flop and betting $10 on turn and getting sucked out on and putting in $70 on the river after he has made his hand so I like betting big when I'm quite sure I have the best hand. That is primarily how I've been playing lately.

I like to price people in to calling me in a lot of circumstances, especially when I don't have what is almost for sure the best hand.
Good example, I raise to 4 with AK and get a caller...flop a82 rainbow. Now, a lot of times I will check this and let him take a stab at the pot. If he doesn't have an ace he might bluff at the pot and you get his money whereas if you bet out and he doesn't have the ace he's going to fold anyhow. The best case scenario is that he's a donk and is playing aq, aj, a10. If the turn is a safe card I will now lead out for maybe 6 bucks...if he doesn't have the Ace he's folding, and if he does he's calling. Now I do the same thing on the river.
Now if I lead out with this hand and bet I bet half the flop....if he makes some super raise I can fold putting him on a set, or if I have a read on him and he raises you can put him all in and he's going to make a fish call with aq aj and a10.
It depends on the player, the stack sizes and position, but I like to try and suck as much money out as I think i can as opposed to going for the knockout blow.

Leading out is much better than checkraising this flop.
The check/raise tips off the strength of your hand. You're made, you aren't improving past a straight, there are lots of cards that are bad, and you can get lots of action from one pairs and two pairs acting behind you.
It's a good thing if we bet and get raised.

I agree in general. Although I think at the lower limits people are always scared of monster hands like JT on this flop and maybe only call with their K? I dunno.
But I agree, in a normal world I don't mind betting this flop. If they fold, then most likely you wouldn't make anything anyway. If they call, you can check raise turn, and if they raise, then all is well in the world....

I'm glad I read all the replies here. Yeah, the check raise on the flop might work on .10/.25 NL but it's just not cutting it in the higher stakes because people are wise to that. I definitely agree that I should have bet out on teh flop. Thanks.
