Daniel,

You echo the sentiments of many with your critique of the WSOP for limiting its lineup to mostly Hold 'Em. So why not try and do something about it? The WSOP is almost a year away still, and it seems like someone in your position--a well-known Vegas pro, outspoken, visible, with an active website--could organize an effort capable of changing the status quo.

I know you're a busy man (we're still waiitng on more headsup ferezouts, dude) but it seems worth some amount of effort to make sure Harrah's knows how you, and many others, feel on the subject.

From what I gather, DN and numerous pros, including Doyle Brunson, have told the organizers that they are unhappy with the schedule and would like to have HORSE and triple draw and the like rather than quite so many holdem events.

And that it hasn't done a thing.

I guess it's just another example of how impotent poker players are in regards to influencing the shape of the game they play. The WPT is still a crapshoot and the WSOP will one day be nothing but hold 'em. I don't see any added-money in championship tournaments, yet, either.

I don't suspect Doyle, Danny et al. are ever going to boycott the WSOP, since most high-profile players have a lot to gain from promotion for their commercial ventures at the WSOP, but if they did, I think the braintrust at Harrah's/ ESPN would be compelled to cater to the players a little more.
