We got to see two rare beasts in this hand: cold-call/cap and call/cap. By the end, the board is really ugly, but based on my read, I'm good here 1/20 times. We cool?

hand 1... what the heck is the question??? you know it's completely standard. if you wanted reinforcement or reassurance, you got it. :-)

hand 2... i think you're overvaluing your AA a little too much in a three-card game. in omaha, there's not really much sense in capping AA preflop if you're not taking them to showdown every time you get them (which means "winning your fair share" isn't really 100% relevant).

this game is a little tougher because it's more like hold 'em but also a little bit like omaha in that sense that a dry pair of aces unimproved are considerably less likely to win. i think your flop three-bet was bad, but you shouldn't have folded anywhere, so nice hand otherwise.

aseem, the raiser in the second hand is a borderline maniac. He could easily be pulling this with middle pair or a draw. I think I've got something in my notes about him check-raising a turn with a gut-shot draw. I really wanted to push out MP3 and get heads-up against him. I would've check-raised him on the turn if it hadn't been for the MP3. And yes, I agree with you that UI aces don't win nearly as often in this game. Most of the time, I'm folding them to this much resistance.

Hand 1... way sexy. I think I need to start playing pineapple.

Hand 2... it looked like one of those head-scratcher kinds of hands where you get priced in to call and the board shat on you. It happens. I think you're good more than 5% of the time here.

After the river, I was definitely expecting to lose the second hand, and it was a welcome surprise when I won it. LAGgy had 98o for the busted OESD. Other guy had J7o. :-)
