He claims to be a Christian, but do Christians live the poker lifestyle like DN? I have seen him talk about drinking, partying, and we all know he likes to gamble. DN's lifestyle would not be considered "Christian" by anyone with a little knowledge of the Bible. To be a true Christian, you must convey the Christian lifestyle, something which I believe DN is not doing.

As long as they aren't exploiting someone doing it, I don't see that the bible would specifically prohibit playing a game for money.

christ, morons like you give christians a bad name as a whole. op you don't know what your talking about, there is nothing wrong with dn's lifestyle in accordance to a "christian life". now i'm not a perfect christian, i don't go to church every week and i haven't read the bible as much i should but i have still studied a decent bit of scripture and have a fairly good grasp of the message that the bible gives. for starters a lot of things in the bible aren't meant to be taken literally and anybody who does take everything the bible says literally is a moron to put it bluntly.
dn plays poker for his career and is awful good at it, it's not gambling mind you but a skilled game in which he has been able to make a sucessful career for himself. he drinks occasionally and enjoys a laid back lifestyle, i dont really see how you are saying that he's living an unchristian lifestyle?? to be a good christian just means to do your best to live your life in the right way and be cogniscent of your faith, you don't have to be perfect and mistakes can and will happen. dn is living a christian lifestyle as far as i can tell and you have absolutely no reason to start a post saying contrary. people like u give christians a bad name and it really annoys me, i try my best to ignore all these posts that say there is no god, etc., i don't try to push my beliefs on others and respect a person's right to believe what they want, op i don't usually flame but i suggest you die for posting this trash, that is all.

Drinking is never expressly forbidden in the Bible (like taping or reproducing an NFL game is). Gambling in the form of poker isn't either. Gambling in general is, but since it's his job and more of a game of skill, I'd grant a pass. What the Bible does expressly prohibit however, is judging others. So say hi to Satan for me if you get the chance.

There's this poker player in LA named Mario Esquerra. He's in his mid 70's and has been playing poker for many years. He wins alot of tourneys and just placed 2nd in the $5000.00 No-limit holdem event at the California state Poker Championship. Took home $197,000!
This guy is known as a very religious person in the poker community. He prays with his other poker/religious buddies before a tourney begins and they all hold hands in a circle and yap away.
Now, I personally don't like this guy cause he is mean as a snake while he plays. He won't hesitate to tell you some shiiat if he feels you deserve it. I look at him and i see hypocrisy at it's finest. But, I have to give it to him, he's a "hell" of a player.
Like many vets have already said, this topic has been discussed many times. But, I feel if it works in your life and your not hurting anyone, then "god bless you". Do your thing you "fearfull", child molesting condoning son of a biiiatch. I'll leave you alone with, what i feel, are some very silly ways to live life. JUST DON"T TELL ME HOW TO LIVE MINE!!!
If I like to listen to Howard Stern, then what the F do you care? If I want my girlfriend to have an abortion, let us be. It's our choice. (Just like it's your choice to vote for George Bush cause he "says" he's against these things but you forget that he lied to us and thousands of people are dying cause of his lies)
I believe that DN has a good heart. And thats what really counts. Not what religion he believes in or doesn't believe. He proves it with his actions. I respect that more than what he says. I would want DN having my back then some religous people that i know that are respected in my community. These people "talk" about fighting for whats right but when it's time to step up, they run and hide and make excuses for there hiding. They say, "It's God's will that this is happening so we should let it be and not interfear." What a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Leave DN and his religion alone. There are other things to critisize him about.

Just b/c you're a "good guy" does not mean you're a christian. There are a lot of "good guys" that will not be entering heaven. It takes much more than a good attitude and a big heart to be a christian. It is not an easy thing to do, that is why many people just disregard it.
